Unknøwn
#1 overall pick Henry Davis signed for $6.5M. Slot value was $8.4M. Part of the reason the Pirates selected Davis was his willingness to take less. They can snow spread that other $1.9M out where needed on the rest of the class. Very similar to the savings Atlanta got from picking Langeliers with the 9 pick in 2019.

Ransack
Not a big fan of the Tyler Collins pick and us going over slot to sign him. He's got a fringe arm (and I do mean fringe) and he's a front foot hitter with a loopy awkward swing with no power potential. He might have speed and be a good athlete but the rest of the package isn't there. Not sure what the scouts saw here to make this pick. Unknøwn
Mets deal with Kumar Rocker is in danger. The team and Rocker are at odds over medical on his elbow. The deadline to complete a deal is 5 PM on Sunday. If no deal is reached Rocker can return to Vandy.

Unknøwn
Rocker and the Mets are still talking but the expectation from the Mets is he will not sign. Mets will not get a first round pick this year but will get a compensation pick in the draft next year for failing to sign him. Rocker will head back to Vandy for another season as the teams ace and some NIL money.

jidady
This sucks for the Mets now but they'll have plentiful options in next year's draft with the slot money from twin first-round picks. The whole thing caused me to check up on Carter Stewart, our first round pick who didn't sign. He's in Japan and got kicked around some at 20 last year. This season, well, this one took me a minute: https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=stewar004car Anybody seen the dual stats before? It looks like they split the stats into starter and reliever. As a starter, he's killing it with only 8 earned runs allowed in 49 innings. As a reliever, he's atrocious, with 6 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. Overall, that's still an ERA of 2.31. He apparently hasn't any health issues, either. So, we appear overly cautious about the situation (which I honestly prefer).
Unknøwn
Rocker will not return to Vandy. He will instead take the year to workout and prepare for the 2022 draft.

If you look at the next line with 5 games the league is JPPL. jidady

(I tried googling this, but Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks sites are almost entirely in Japanese. AUTiger7222

There's a Russian site I visit sometimes that I have to use a browser translator on and it doesn't translate everything but it does enough that I can kinda navigate my way around. Unknøwn
Rocker is considering playing internationally before the 2022 draft. He hasn't decided anything yet except that he will not play for Vandy again. I'm guessing Boras started getting a lot of calls from other leagues yesterday. I know Peter Moylan was on Twitter offering him a roster spot for the pro Australian team he manages.
