Monday - July 5 - 7:05 PM - Bally Sports South

  • Max Fried (5-4, 4.16) vs. Chase De Jong (0-3, 5.65)

Tuesday - July 6 - 7:05 PM - Bally Sports South

  • Ian Anderson (5-4, 3.35) vs. Chad Kuhl (2-5, 5.16)

Wednesday - July 7 - 12:35 PM - Bally Sports South

  • Drew Smyly (6-3, 4.42) vs. Wil Crowe (1-5, 6.26)

Braves have a huge advantage in the pitching matchups. We miss the Pirates two best starters in Tyler Anderson and JT Brubaker. Chance for the offense to take advantage and have some fun, although the Braves are gonna have to overcome their own demons to do it. PNC Park has been a house of horrors since it opened. Braves are at .500 there (31-31) but a lot of that success came in the early days of the park. In recent years it's been a nightmare. Only two winning records at PNC in the last eight years there.

  • 2001 (3-0)
  • 2002 (1-2)
  • 2003 (2-1)
  • 2004 (3-1)
  • 2005 (1-2)
  • 2006 (2-1)
  • 2007 (2-1)
  • 2008 (1-2)
  • 2009 (1-2)
  • 2010 (3-3)
  • 2011 (2-0)
  • 2012 (1-2)
  • 2013 (1-3)
  • 2014 (2-1)
  • 2015 (1-2)
  • 2016 (1-3)
  • 2017 (0-3)
  • 2018 (3-0)
  • 2019 (1-2)

TOTAL = 31-31

I don't know what it is about the new stadiums in Cincinnati, San Diego and Pittsburgh but those are three places that the Braves just don't play well at.

I think that after this series you are gonna be happy with the above .500 Braves

He's got a 3.15 ERA since the beginning of May. That's 10 starts.

Sounds about right.

And the only reason it is even that high is a 3 or 4 games  stretch where he was beaten like a drum

Had a 4.24 ERA in May and then a 2.84 ERA in June. Gotten better each month.

Maybe AA is gonna come out looking like the smart one lol

He has 1 bad outing since the beginning of May and that was the start in Boston. He started out really good that night too and then everything fell apart in the 6th.

Dang every other team in the division has much tougher matchups than us. We have to capitalize lol

Braves will get theirs following the break.

  • 3 vs. Rays
  • 3 vs. Padres
  • 4 at Phillies
  • 5 at Mets
  • 3 vs. Brewers

That's a tough stretch.

I just see 18-0?!?!?!?!

But really that makes this stretch so important. Took care of business last week and now we have to go at least 4-2 but preferably better.

That's horrible, nearly 30 minutes, over 30 pitches and only 1 run. Got a bad feeling that's gonna come back to bite the Braves like it normally does.

DeJong’s pitches need to be timed with a calendar, not a stop watch

Always thought you were a Dansby apologist back in the day.

Nope. I said Dansby needed to be given a proper amount of time before determining his fate. Now that he's been given a proper amount of time (roughly 2000 PA) we can conclude that Dansby is who he is and can be easily upgradeable.
