The Falcons need someone like Trae Young who can take over a game and dominate.

It’s a nice thought, but the nfl doesn’t work that way. The one superstar scenario is unique to the NBA, because of the number of players and the confined playing surface.

The NFL has too many moving parts to think it’s possible. In fact, we have the closest thing you’ll get to that, which is a top flight franchise QB.

Matt Ryan and Julio Jones was kind of like that in 2016.

Heck, his absolutely awful passing skills cost us as many games as his incredibly exciting play making skills won.

I wonder if Dirk Koetter would have helped Vick with his passing game. Mike Vick and warrick Dunn could pick up the slack for poor run scheme

There were a couple dozen other guys who made that happen, too. It wasn’t just Matt and Julio. Freeman was excellent. The OL was solid. I haven’t even mention all the defenders who showed up week to week to get us there.  NBA guys have to play both sides.

They just can’t be compared at all.

Vick had the only guy who could make him useful in Dan Reeves, and they fired him. But that’s been beat to death for many years.

Like his 5-23 shooting and 3 rebounds in game 7 against the 76ers?

See.... even basketball is a TEAM sport

But he hit critical shots in the 4th quarter with the game on the line when it counted most on top of the fact  he impacts the game by his great passing, drawing double teams, and controling to tempo of the game.

It's a team sport but ballers and superstars are what you need when the lights are brightest and the game is on the line.

Also a big difference is in basketball players play offense and defense. In football it's impossible to carry a team playing just one side of the ball

I believe that under Arthur Smith, the best of Matt Ryan could still be to come. We could see MVP like Matt Ryan again and more consistently.

Kyle Pitts or Calvin Ridley could become that guy.

One of our young defensive players could become that guy.

Hopefully the new coaching staff will have the players more confident and believing in each other.

Except that in football it is a lot harder to take over a game and dominate because you only play one side of the ball. Matt Ryan can throw as many TD’s as he wants, and it won’t matter if the D goes out and gives up a matching TD.

what they need is a coaching staff that can have them playing smart football as a team.

No Dirk wouldn’t have helped Vick. You can’t make someone do something they didn’t want to do. Vick said himself he didn’t put in the work. What we saw in Philly with Vick is what he could have been if he put that work in but even more dangerous

Yup.

Our Trae is Matt Ryan. Field General that can lead his team even when they're down (and yes he has done that plenty of times).

Only thing is basketball has defense/offense in a hybrid role... we just have a garbage defense (had... hopefully).
