All jokes aside his route running is elite. He's also smart by not taking so many kill shots, it will keep him around longer.

Funny how playaction worked so well with no run gm.

Ive just been concerned Ridley can or even wants to step up to be a #1 receiver.. Imo, Ridley has been pretty low key.. Even more than Julio.. I really would like to know what Ridley thinks/feels about being a #1

I'm not a Ryan hater, but that stat doesn't show anything about Ryan. 20 yards isn't exactly a deep ball. And how many were YAC, etc?

The way the question is worded would lead you to believe that these were catches on balls that traveled 20 plus yards downfield. Otherwise the question would be stated as "who had the most catches of 20 yards or more?" But it specifically says 20 plus yards downfield. That would lead you to believe they're talking about the ball traveling 20 yards downfield before the catch.

NFL.com official stats which tracks how many 20 plus yard catches (which doesn't count air yards thrown) lists Ridley as having 23 such catches in 2020.

As for Ryan's deep ball passing. Many sites (PFF, Football Outsiders) lists deep passing as passes that traveled either 20 or 25 yards downfield in the air. The amount of passes that travel 30 plus yards down field in the NFL is a very low percentage of overall pass attempts. The vast majority of passes in the NFL are in the 10 to 20 yard range.

So yeah, I would say that 20 plus yards down field can be considered deep in the NFL.

Regardless, when people criticize Ryan they aren't talking about 20 yard passes. So Ridley's stat still proves nothing about Ryan's 'real' deep ball ability.
