I love me some Justin Upton!! Twins intentionally put Trout on 1st because they had 1st open and J-Up made them pay by hitting his 8th career Grand Slam!! 9-3 Angels!

And now Jared Walsh hooks one around the RF foul pole for another homerun and it's 10-3 Angels!

I dont think the Padres are ready to tackle LA. The Dodgers are so good. Tatis also has 7 errors already. Unusually bad on defense so far this season.

I said the same thing during the winter. Despite all their spending and trades and such they're still not on LA's level.

It blows my mind that Oliver Perez is still pitching in the majors. Yes, the same Oliver Perez that used to mystify the crap out of the Braves. Every other team would crush him but he always turned into Cy Young against the Braves. It was the ****est thing. But back to him still being in the majors, he made his MLB debut way back in 2002 when he was only 20 years old and will be 40 years old in August. It really is true, if you throw left-handed you can pitch in the majors forever.

Dodgers beat the Padres 2-0. Mookie Betts with an amazing catch to end the game. I said during the winter that despite all the Padres big time spending and trades that they still weren't on the Dodgers level and sadly that's exactly the way this series is turning out. The Padres just are quite there yet. Maybe they will be come October, but not there yet.

Dodgers on pace to go 140-22. Regardless of how realistic that is they are off to the best start in MLB history for a defending champion. Its hard to see anyone that can take them down in October right now.

Jay Bruce announced his retirement this morning

If you're wondering the Braves drafted Joey Devine in the 1st round that year at #27.

That was the year the Braves were so desperate for bullpen help that they drafted Devine and by August he was in the majors. It didn't work out well. But he had a really good year or two with the A's before arm problems ended his career.
