Someday soon
Justin Fields, hand size 9 1/8 (9 fumbles in 2019 and down to 2 in 2020) Trey Lance, hand size 9 1/8 (4 fumbles in 2019 and 1 in 1 game 2020) Zack Wilson, hand size 9 1/2 (4 fumbles in 2019 and 3 in 2020) Matt Ryan for the last 4 years had (1,9,8 and 4) Thoughts or just a obsolete measurement? flrybranch
Just like Drew Brees couldn't play QB in the NFL because he was too short. Measurable matter, until they don't Edit:autocorrect Edited March 31, 2021 by flrybranch JohnnyFranchise, slick0ne, hotlanta and 2 others 3

Measurable matter, until they don't Edit:autocorrect I'm 100% against a QB in the 1st and think its laughable (unless we trade back into the 20s or something and stockpile picks then let a guy sit like Aaron Rodgers). But yeah, measureables don't mean **** for QBs. It is nice to have a tall guy with a strong build that can take hits... but Brees sure did fine. *Russel Wilson also a small guy who is even more mobile than Brees and will likely play until his mid to late 30s. FalconFanSince1969
There are literally a million other reasons to not draft a qb. This doesnt even register for me Killing Floor and papachaz

Killing Floor
I can palm a standard basketball. I am reasonably sure TJ Watt could knock a football out of my hands no matter how hard I held on. At least some of the time. Now account for eyes downfield and moving feet to avoid the sack. Conclusion...big hands = big gloves. 1989Fan
I remember Teddy B getting roasted for his hand size and wearing gloves on his throwing hand to better grip the ball. I am sure larger hands help, but not gonna make a team pass on a Great QB talent.

TsuTsu
Shouldn't matter too much I think, least not for QBs, I'm sure if we could take the greatest mental aspects and combine with the greatest physical traits you'd have Goku out there on the field, but this isn't madden. Anything over 9” is considered ok for QB hands. The bigger the better for ball handling purposes. Yes size matters bigger is better no doubt. Brees Farve P Manning R Wilson many of the great ones has big hands measuring over 10 “

takeitdown
I think on QB the concern is mainly when they have particularly small hands, like 8.5. And that is relevant for ball security, or generally would be. But I'd imagine all these guys are above the problem area. Still don't want to draft any at 4. Killing Floor
Yep. I guess if you have really small baby T-Rex hands that’s an issue but you wouldn’t be in the draft anyway. I’m not convinced it’s a really valid metric.

Swayzee
What was Vicks hand size? He certainly fumbled a bunch, but also carried the ball at his hip(1 handed). Update: 8.5" for Vick.
