Notice nothing is listed prior to 1976. Up until somewhere in that time period the NFL did not keep a record of sacks. If so Claude Humphrey would probably top that list as well as others such as John Zook and Tommy Nobis being included on the list.

Looks like John Abraham, Rod Coleman, and Chris Doleman are the only pass rushers (post '76) that have been worth a ****. There are several folks who ended up with a bunch of sacks, but their year to year numbers are not consistent at all. Most of our high number guys have been one year wonders.

Scary.  It's numbers like this that are truly sobering.

you almost never hear folks talking about how dominate travis hall was ... the man was dominate in his prime (as a DT even)

He was super solid. Not a superstar or anything, but I'd take a player like him any day of the week on this team.

DQ was wrong coach for Beasley. Too bad they couldn’t hire Freeney as a coach. Vic wasted his talent.

Dude - Vic sucked. Don’t blame coaching. Don’t even go there. Vic was a pure bust other than the one season when he tripped and fell into sacks. Vic didn’t have it and most of all didn’t want it. He was no different than the long list of nothings acquired by the former GM. VB was never going to more than average regardless of where he played or who coached him.

If this team does anything with it's new leadership I would like to see us finally:

  • Sack the QB again! (get back to the days of falcons defensive dominance & gritz blitz etc.)
  • Coaching that makes a difference in a game. Scheming, playcalling, adjusting & accountability.
  • Running game.  Effective & able to set up play action.
  • Hit on a larger percentage of trench players on both sides of the ball.

A guy with 37 sacks in 5 years is not a bust. He wasted his talent with no direction and heart. Takk is a bust.
