Still a long ways to go to get a full roster (need 12 more players that will add to our cap) and be under the cap.

Something most here won't consider but trading Jarrett would gain an additional $11 million of space with a dead cap hit of $11 million.

Why on earth would anyone consider trading one of the only key pieces on defense?

Trading Jarrett? WTH

Far more likely that we end up extending Grady and/or converting some of his base salary this season to clear cap space.   It's easy to manipulate the cap on a player you know you are gonna

Of all the players that we could possibly trade. He should never be included.

Man, we don’t need to keep restructuring Ryan, Julio & Matthews.  We manipulated their contracts too often.  Just need to absorb their hit this year.  Gives us significantly more flexibility in 2022.  We are no longer in a position to be short sighted with our contracts.  We’ve been chasing a title the last 3 years which is why our cap is so bad right now

Just sucks our record was 18-30 the last 3 years while chasing a title...lol

Need to be able to fill the holes so they just have to bite the bullet and make solid moves.

We gonna need to extend Matt contract at least a year to spread out that bonus money.... Most likely Matt's team gonna get that 2022 year guaranteed to work with the team on that cap front.

A Ryan extension makes far more sense than restructuring his current deal.  They can add 2 years for all I care.  Just stop massaging the current contract cause it’s already unbalanced.  We owe him 121 million the next 3 years

I personally can't fathom why the Falcons would want to extend Ryan, Jones or Matthews this year.  All three have three years left on their contracts.  If the Falcons go 3-13 in 2021 then 6-10 in 2022 AS and TF will still be employed.  Paying for players (no longer on the team) in year three and four of their tenure would certainly hurt their chances of getting the Falcons back in the playoffs in the most critical years of their contracts.
