Let’s hope the Jags hire Morris so we can get two third round comp picks too. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thefalconswire.usatoday.com/2021/01/07/falcons-interim-coach-raheem-morris-interviews-with-jaguars/amp/
1989Fan 16,106
If someone else hires him, they still get the picks for it...this shouldn’t be a factor. its getting warm about this guy, feel like he is gonna be the hire. Let’s just hope the Saints don’t draft quite as good without him, though I believe that’s Ireland’s forte. Pretty good news and a nice incentive given to a team that loses a minority HC or GM to another team. Hopefully Morris crushed the Jags interview. Having two additional third round picks for someone we weren’t going to hire (Morris) would be AMAZING!
WisFalcon 1,787
If we don’t hire him, someone else will eventually. So the saints will get the picks no matter what. We will at least get a guy that can potentially hurt the saints by building a dominant team Edited January 12 by WisFalcon Ergo Proxy, Francis York Morgan, Falcon fan 4 ever and 2 others

ESPN: Bears hire Ryan Pace as GM Quote Pace's duties as New Orleans' director of pro scouting included him recommending the club's acquisitions through evaluations of the Saints' roster as well as potential free agents, while monitoring the league's transactions, and researching potential trade opportunities as well as advance scouting. Hmm, that sounds VERY familiar... 🤔 Edited January 12 by Iron Saint vitaman

His undoing was taking Mitchell Trubisky as his franchise QB and then trying to cover that up with Nick Foles. Also, Nagy is pure cheeks.

Their defense hasn’t been bad in his 6 years, but they were equally as good if not better the 6 years prior to his hiring, the offense is way worse. They had a winning record (49-47) in the 6 years pre-Pace along with two 10+ win seasons, a playoff win and a NFC Championship game appearance. Agree on Trubisky and Nagy, but those are two massive strikes worth firing him right now for. vitaman

Farmer2 2,461
It won’t effect the decision. A great GM will have a huge impact over the next 10-15 years. 2 3rd round comp picks are nice but the GM will have a much larger impact. It’s interesting to me that GMs don’t get paid more. 2-3 million a year on average and you could make the argument they impact the success of the team as much as any position.
