Sure, Ryan isn’t a runner but he isn’t a statue either. He is “mobile enough” and that’s been proven. Like Lamar has an offense tailored to him, why we went back to Dirk is mind blowing...

End results play an important role no doubt about it. The top 3 mentioned also have shown to consistently have the ability to get out of the pocket and extend the play, Ryan has not. It’s about extending the play. Can Ryan do it? Sure. Can he do as consistently as the 3 other QBs? No. Not to mention the other 3 QBs this season have better stats. Watson being #1 is impressive considering he didn’t have $hit in terms of weapons/coaching.

Because for whatever reason there's been a widespread agenda to cut or trade Ryan because of whatever perceived decline in his skills, which is not true.

Dude threw 26 TDs (29 total including rushing) to 11 INTs for 4581 yards. He had better stats than Philip Rivers and several other QBs on playoff teams and teams with winning records, and yet the Falcons' went 4-12.

But the prevailing narrative, especially after DQ was fired, is that Ryan is on the decline and needs to be traded or cut in favor of a college QB that hasn't taken a single snap in the NFL.

On a team that went 4-11. Stop bringing up stats, because they obviously didn't turn into wins.

Maybe because every time Matt Ryan gets sacked we get 10 new threads and 50 new posts "if only we didn't have a statue for a QB. We need a mobile QB."

No one brought it up in this thread. Ryan huggers did. You can’t criticize the other side when you do the exact same thing.

They really have to. Time to show their PA. And everyone knows they WILL run. Derrick Henry man.

A false narrative is “establishing the run” is required to use PA. They played closer to vest in the first half after getting the lead and it backfired with Ravens shutting down the run.

Maybe on a game-by-game basis it becomes a false narrative, but you have to establish that threat for your team(Which Tennessee has spent the last 2 years doing). They could effectively run PA at will if just because of the reputation they have cultivated.

Titans can’t stop ravens run game while ravens have stopped the Titans run game. Not looking good for Tennessee.

They're getting gashed in the run game because the Ravens have mixed their runs with the quick passing game. Titans defense is starting to loosen up because they have to account for the pass now.

yet there Ryan is despite playing for a pocket focused OC.

Dude do you read?

I specifically pointed out the Falcons went 4-12. Why do suppose that is when the QB clearly played well enough for the team to win more than that?

I don't see why you guys always make it a black or white issue.  Vick provided the Falcons with some great years it ended badly. Matt Ryan erased a dark time for Falcons fans and has represented the city well.  End of story.

Because it’s a thing regardless of people want to acknowledge it. It’s there. Both erased dark times for Falcons in their own respect.

Vick made it exciting to watch this team. He put us on the map. We became “Must see TV”. If he only lived up to his talent, he would have been a first ballot HOF and a SB winner. He didn’t have the work ethic, and now he’s unrealized potential.

Ryan brought stability to the franchise post Vick/Petrino era. He allowed us to be consistent and solid in the QB position. The same way Mike Smith did for our franchise his first few seasons here. However being solid will only get you so far. Ryan is a smart/good QB but he was never the most physically gifted. When QBs age, the physical tools are the first to go. Love Ryan but his time is coming.

Most QBs coming out of the draft are more mobile than, whether it be because of physical talent or youth.

The opposite can be said actually. Pretending Anti-Ryan rhetoric hasn’t been spouted is to wear blinders.
