Go ahead, say it.

You’re making something out of nothing. If it was based on what you want him to say he’d say that about every other guy we have drafted. He is probably basing it on him leaving when he didn’t get his way at UGA and uses that to pin him as irresponsible.

Luckily, a decision is made on innumerable variables.  His intelligence, his work ethic, his measureables, interviews, tests etc.  In this day and age it's not too hard to get the information you need.  The kid has skills, does he have skeletons?  NFL security will find out.  He had a good game.

Didnt Green Bay do the samething with Aaron Rogers regardless of where he was picked, they still had Favre on the roster. More excuses😂🤣😅

Just the way people are. Fields was looked down on because of 1 bad game and another game with half his team out.

They rather jump to conclusions based off 1 game than stick to what they believe over the course of a long period of play.

That happens with every college QB though. People are quickly turning on Lawrence after one bad game...

But you’re right, it’s all overreaction to everything. Both high and low. I told you earlier this week my concerns of fields. He definitely proved me wrong last night. I wanted to see him play at his very best on the national stage against a very tough opponent. He did just that. I was also concerned about him not beating out Fromm. But, he’s clearly grown

What other big games? Let me guess, the Northwestern and Indiana games, nevermind he is 20-1 as a starter and the only lost came against Clemson last year, where he ball that game as well and drove his team down the field for game winning TD but it was picked when the receiver went turnes the wrong way, but its your world.

Ohio State has such a talent advantage over every other team so they should be 20-1 lol. The talent gap between Ohio State and every other Big 10 is huge. So yeah... don’t act like it’s some big revelation that Ohio State was 20-1 against trash competition with Fields.

And even then, why don’t we give Fields the Ryan treatment on the Clemson game last year? Went up big, then did nothing for the rest of the game. When Ryan does that, he gets crucified. And when Ryan’s WRs mess up, it’s still his fault. Even despite that last play last year, he still wasn’t that good in the game.

Not to turn this into a Ryan thread because he has his issues and I’m fine moving on from him, but it’s just funny how Fields is getting the same passes for prior years that people refuse to give Ryan lol.

I don’t think the Jets are going to give up on Darnold. I just don’t see it.

They shouldn’t. They should get him a coach, a left tackle or maybe a stud receiver. He has nothing. No system. No weapons. No coach. All he has is somewhat of a respectable defense. If they draft a QB, the same thing will probably happen

They may have had a lot of people out, but despite that, Ohio State’s backups are better than almost every other Big 10 team’s starters.

No.

1) Wins aren’t a QB stat.
2) Lawrence lost his OC and offense looked completely out of sync making him look bad.

Sound familiar?

3) Recency bias is what made Terrell fall to us in the draft.  Lawrence has a 3 year sample size, one game doesn’t erase that.

Nope.  Lawrence had THE COACH that formulates a passing attack against a opponent after scouting him and then relays in game information to the offensive coordinator.  Clemson was running the SAME plays they would have under Elliot.  In fact,  Fields didn't have HIS play caller in a game this season and demolished whoever it was they were playing because the offense runs the SAME PLAYS...

Passing game coordinator Brandon Streeter will fill in for Elliott up in the box and will help Swinney with play calls.

Friday is a big day for Streeter for another reason as it’s also his 44th birthday.

Great points. I would draft Sewell if I was the Jets. And get Adam Gase far away from that place as possible. Darnold can be a really good QB. He has had moments of showing it

The OC does more than call plays. He makes in game adjustments and he sets plays up. Losing his OC was HUGE

Unfortunately for them, the Jets issues go far behind the coach. They have a talent problem. I don’t think I can really name any players on their offense off the top of my head.

digging in the crates.  Lawrence himself will tell you he had is PASSING GAME COORDINATOR there.      Its a position that was created by football teams to KEEP ON STAFF offensive guys who have the ability to be offensive coordinator and will bounce if they don't get that title and salary that goes with it.  The NFL does the same thing.  That means Clemson has TWO offensive coordinators...

I don’t think the Jets are going to give up on Darnold. I just don’t see it.

Jets already have a decent line with a franchise LT in Becton, and other improvements can be done via FA using their massive cap rather than spending a 2nd overall pick on it.

Darnold has some major issues though. His accuracy and decision making even without pressure is poor. His throws, even when the O-line holds up, leave a lot to be desired.

The supporting cast is slowly coming together and will continue to do so.. Their 2020 draft class has done well and they have a ton of picks in 21 & 22. Plus they have the second largest cap space.

What they need is a QB who can allow them to continue to improve and take the next step. A 4th year Darnold who still keeps making the mistakes he made in college is not the answer. Gase certainly didn’t help Darnold, but I just don’t see Darnold as the answer for that franchise.
