If Fields can go out and give a solid game against Bama.. will he play his way into the number one pick?

Doubt the Jets would let Lawrence past the 2nd but it’s the Jets.. and Darnold has been playing by good football lately.

Not a chance. Lawrence is the better long term prospect hands down. One game doesn't change his previous 3 seasons of work (sounds like someone else from Clemson we ended up drafting). You are going to have your Fields fans and your Lawrence fans and even your Wilson fans. And no amount of logic can change their mind ...

Ugh, it's going to be a HORRIBLE couple of weeks till the draft

I’m a fan of all three. As long as we lose to the bucs tomorrow I’ll be happy regardless.

Assuming we even draft a QB. Think if Raheem gets the gig we won’t.

People don't remember this, but Fields and Lawrence = 1A or 1B put them in the right position, and it doesn't matter.

Seriously go all the way back to when they were recruited by Clemson and UGA(idiots) and most people were saying they are the best two QB's out of our state, and not only that as far as ranking goes quite possibly the best recruits ever to be seen. That's why I'm still pissed UGA just let him walk. It's the equivalent of letting Michael Jordan or in Falcons case Brett Farve walk out the door.

I am as well, I just don't think Wilson is the 3rd/4th player in the draft. The problem is the new staff HAVE to nail their picks if we want to be relevant quick. If Lawrence/Fields are gone at 3/4 (if that's where we end up picking), the best thing would be to trade back for assets or take Parsons depending on what defense is being ran. I really like Surtain too after today's game. I think we could be in a good spot for a lot of things to happen.

I also wonder if Lawrence would pull an Eli if we finish 3rd and force Jax to move him. I wouldn't want to play for the Jets OR the Jags but especially the Jags with their owner trying to have them play in London...

Not even joking when I say I think Zach Wilson's best attribute is being a Mormon.

Least you wouldn't have to worry about him getting caught up in off-field antics. I think he'd be ready for work every day.

How did this work out for Marcus Mariota vs Jameis Winston? One is completely out of the league and it's not the one that got the hook up.

Edit I stand correct he's with Las Vegas right now, but he was out of the league last year according Wiki.

Justin has beat Lawrence head to head in both 7 on 7 drill camps coming out of high school AND in games in college.  Justin has the better arm, pocket presence, and accuracy under pressure  .  Lawrence is highly inaccurate when he is pressured.

....you ain’t wrong on Lawrence, but people don’t wanna hear it

What a stupid thread. Find one post saying we shouldn't draft him at 4th. There isn't one because everyone has known for 2 years now that Lawrence and Fields would be the top 2 picks. We've all known he wouldn't be there at 4. The debate has been about Zach Wilson.

Nah bro, they've been talking the same thing about Fields. They've been saying that Lawrence is the only QB that deserves to be drafted that high. Truth be told, any of the top 5 QB if drafted in the top 10 wouldn't be bad.

I’ve seen so many comments on this board about why we shouldn’t take Justin if he’s there when we pick at #4 (and if you’ve followed this team like I have..., we WILL be picking 4th). This kid has TONS of talent and HAS had it since playing High School ball in Kennesaw. He has a ROCKET ARM with accuracy. Plus he has a natural feel for when to take off vs. steeling his nerves to stand in the pocket a little bit longer to let his receivers come open.

If you STILL think that he will not make a GREAT next QB (in waiting after sitting behind & learning from Matty for a year) for our franchise..., well then you must’ve seen a different game than the one I watched tonight!!

Draft Justin Fields....., & Rise Up!!

He won't be there for us to pick him anyway.

Correct. I think Fields will be better in the NFL. Although both are great talents. I hope he falls to us and sits for a year under Ryan.

This whole he has to sit stuff is not gonna happen. If we spend the #4 pick on a QB expect Ryan to be gone soon after. Same goes for if Jets take him.. Darnold will he shipped out.

As for your pics, The beauty of having a mobile QB is that even when he does not have a clean pocket like those plays you posted he can still make plays with his legs by either scrambling or running. When Ryans pocket breaks down 9/10 times you know Its going to end badly.

Yep, not sure why people don't see this. I would be very surprised to see us keep Ryan if we take a QB at 4. Keeping them both isn’t the best situation for either QB nor the locker room. High drafted QBs have sat before (usually not a year though), but it isn’t behind a QB the level of Ryan.

Fields had a great game when he needed it. Congrats to him. He definitely proved some doubters wrong, myself included, who had concerns on his performances against better competition.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Unfortunately it is gonna be a long couple months around here with so many strong (sometimes stubborn, obnoxious) feelings on the QB position. Just throwing this out there for consideration folks. You can like Fields without sh*tting on Ryan, and you can like Ryan without sh*tting on Fields (or other QBs)

Why would you want Darnold? He hasn’t lived up to any level of expectation. Sure, playing for the Jets doesn’t help but he’s not the answer.

He has tools. He hasn’t lived up to the hype, but injuries have been part of that. Same can be said for why would the Titans have wanted tannehill.

The other things is at that point if Lawrence and Fields are gone (maybe Wilson too) Falcons are not taking one at 4...then if you get to the next tier of QBs, do any of them have the tools that Darnold does? Maybe Mac Jones, but is he there in round 2? My statement is about availability and value, and risk vs reward

He was never out of the league. He was with Tennessee last year and was benched for Tannehill

Well the GM could want to draft a QB and have him sit and learn for a year. People need to realize we don’t have a GM yet. So people need to stop saying what will or won’t happen.

If Jags go Lawrence and Jets pass on a QB, that would leave the #3 pick as a hot spot for teams to look to trade up and jump the Falcons for Fields.

The Dolphins don't need a QB and have 2 1st round picks, could see them trade down a few spots to get a WR.

Don't see the Phins passing on Sewell, they'll want to have Tua protected without a doubt.
