obviously nothing is guaranteed but picking higher in theory gives you both better options and more options, first choices in positional scarcity, more trade down possibilities, trade up for cheaper

as we discovered the last 3 years, there was nothing to gain from winning the last 3 games of the year and picking 16th instead of 7th

It’s sports entertainment. Absolutely nothing that happens on the field on Sunday matters in the least in the real world. What is gained is feeling good after a win.

Six days a week, it’s fine to debate the future, but if you aren’t cheering like crazy for a win every time the team takes the field, you aren’t a fan of anything but free agency and the draft.

I never actively root for the birds to lose but honestly I couldn't give less of a **** about a pointless win in December either. I just want a superbowl and following the path that gives us the highest probability to get one is having as many difference makers on the team as possible.

All I can do is refer you back to my first response. Draft position matters little. The ability to choose the right kind of players when  you do pick, and to develop them properly is all that matters  in the end.

you'll thank us in a few weeks when your shortsighted mind will turn towards the draft

let go of your instant gratification BS and realise the goal is to win a SB. best chance to win a SB is to have high picks when you suck and do well with them *fingers crossed*

Nah bro draft picks are important but better coaching and better off field decisions is where it’s at if you want to win in this league.

Its why I’d like a GM whose consistently picking from 18 down.It means to me he’s able to get talent in that range and still win.

Off the field is where it’s at.
