Goober Pyle
Falcons injury report: Ricardo Allen, James Carpenter out against Chargers It’s week 14, and the Atlanta Falcons are set to travel out west to face the Los Angeles Chargers. The team does have some significant injuries, as it was already announced earlier in the day that wide receiver Julio Jones will not play on Sunday due to a lingering hamstring injury. The team released its official practice report for Friday, giving us insight into where certain players stand health-wise. FULL PARTICIPATION RB Ito Smith (neck) LB Foye Oluokun (neck) DE Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (neck) P Sterling Hofrichter (right hamstring) FB Keith Smith (neck) LIMITED PARTICIPATION S Keanu Neal (ankle) DE Dante Fowler (hamstring) TE Hayden Hurst (ankle) DT Grady Jarrett (groin) NO PARTICIPATION RB Todd Gurley (knee) WR Julio Jones (hamstring) OUT S Ricardo Allen (concussion) OUT G James Carpenter (groin) OUT OT Kaleb McGary (personal matter) QUESTIONABLE Although he’s listed as a non-participant for Friday’s practice, running back Todd Gurley is expected to play. He generally receives a rest day late in the week, so this isn’t anything out of the ordinary. We knew Jones would be out, but the team will also be without Ricardo Allen who is recovering from a concussion and James Carpenter who is dealing with a groin injury. An unexpected addition to the practice report was Kaleb McGary, who has a personal matter which has him listed as questionable for Sunday. That will be something to monitor, as McGary’s replacement would likely be John Wetzel who is listed behind him on the team’s depth chart. Expect to also see Justin McCray make another start at left guard. The Falcons didn’t need any injuries to make the road ahead difficult, but minus three starters on Sunday, it’ll be interesting to see how they respond. They need to cut him before FA opens just so there is no temptation to let him slide into the starting lineup again next year. It's honestly baffling how he's managed to not only keep his job for the last 3 years, but not even have to compete for it.

hjerry
KALEB MCGARYT, ATLANTA FALCONS Falcons RT Kaleb McGary (personal) is out for Week 14 against the Chargers. With Joey Bosa less than 24 hours away, that is going to qualify as a "yikes." Matt Gono is the next man up on the right side. With McGary and Julio Jones out, Matt Ryan is barely playable as a QB2. The No. 31 overall pick of last year's draft, McGary has been good, if not great, this season. Killing Floor
I'd have Ridley rotate sides, keep LAC guessing. You know our only play is throw to Ridley now but Chargers won't know which side to cover. It will totally confuse Gus Bradley. At least that's what I predict DK will do. marvinthemartian
Any idea specifically what the issue is with McGary? A personal issue could be anything.

Gonobeast
Looks like out of the 3 best DE the falcons faced all season Gono might start against 2 of them. Mack - Gono / .5 sack C Jordan - McGary twice / 3 sacks Boso - - Gono Does gono even get practice reps at RT?
