Edwards looks pretty nice, but I think we go the cheap route and draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round in the draft.  Some really nice prospects coming out at RB

There are but i want a bruiser. Najee can be a bruiser but a lot of the other guys are more speed backs

Edward's is head and shoulders better than anyone on our team. Is he a free agent next year? Wonder what his price tag would be?

Im not sure if he is a FA next year or not. If he isnt id see if they would take a 3rd

We won’t be 20 million over the cap if the reports from Sunday are turn that the league may set the cap around 195 million instead of the 175 million floor the League and NFLPA agreed to before the season.

Yea. $175M was NEVER going to happen. Would have led to a lot of good players being out of work.

If you expect him to be the starter for a few years, I think getting him for under $6m/year would be a pretty solid value.

no way. Freeman was making near that and he was a multi-year pro-bowler level performer and higher draft pick. Edwards is good but he's a 3rd stringer, never been a starter and was a UDFA which does affect their next contracts

Edwards missed the first 4 weeks of his rookie season, then took a few weeks to get up to speed. for the last half of his rookie year, he was the starter & got 15-20 carries a game. He gained 654 yards on 125 carries in that span... which is 5.23 YPC.

He only started 1 game in 2019, but had 21 carries for 120 yards (6.19 YPC) against the Steelers.

So far this year, when he's been given a fair amount of carries, he's done good things except for a game vs. Philly & one against Pittsburgh.

He is a guy who can be a starter & thus may be paid like one... hence the OP mentioning comparison to when we signed Michael Turner.
