There are people with limited ethics and morals who will find ways to have others give them some of that money. But, you stated Bountygate was a sham. It was not. Payton took it too far for some of his players to deal with. And, you make it sound like most players are involved with this. Most are not. Historically, the players involved wanted to take a player out because they wanted to win or were weary of chasing someone, usually QBs and RBs. It is difficult to know when a defender wants to take a player out of the game. It is even difficult to uncover a payout offered by someone to take a player out. Payton was busted because he opened the offer to his entire team. There are coaches who will not cross that line. There are players who will not cross that line. And, one of those players stepped up and revealed what was happening. And, btw, old wise sage, you do not know me. I played football, fought in a war, succeeded in corporate America for 40+ years, and have watched football for 60+ years old wise sage. I may have learned a few things about what people can and cannot do in that time. And, I have learned when, why, and how someone pushes a story that they themselves do not believe. I laughed at your presumptuous "As you get older". It wasn't a player that stepped forward. Nor was it SP who instituted the pool of money. I'll leave it at that. It's all out there if you want to get your facts right.

Is every other analyst possible just too dumb about the Saints or Falcons to be on this game? Considering the fact that Vilma knows the Falcons more than probably anyone that will be wearing a Falcons uniform on Sunday other than possibly Ryan or Julio, yes. I’d also bet that maybe other than Romo, no other current NFL color commentator knows more about Koetter’s offense than Vilma.

Initially, one player for the Saints made allegations that a bounty was offered by Saints coaches for Favre and Warner. That player later recanted his allegations. Then, 4 players and Greg Williams were thought to be the culprits. Later it was learned that Williams and 22-27 players were pooling money to cover the bounties. It was discovered that Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis were aware of the pool and not only allowed it to continue but made efforts to cover it. The NFL ran a lengthy investigation and verified the above allegations. Additionally, they learned that Aaron Rogers, Matt Hasselbeck, and Cam Newton had bounties. As well, the NFL investigation determined that Tom Benson has directed Sean Payton to shut the bounty pool down and that Payton instead made efforts to hide the activity from Benson. Do you actually think that because Sean Payton did not pay into the pool or hand out the rewards makes any difference. He knew about it, he let it operate, he lied to the owner when told to shut it down. You can take your BS back to the Saints board. I have no use for your misleading innuendos. Twice in this thread you have stated or insinuated that I do not have my information correct. You have been wrong both times. Your credibility is non-existent with me. As you get older, what you will learn, is that it is ALWAYS....ALWAYS about MONEY. always. To add onto your point, it's not just with the videos. NFL controls what appears in officially licensed NFL video games and Madden used to have helmets flying off with hard hits but eventually the NFL made them take it out. Anything relevant to the current times? I did not start the discussion. I did not state that it was relevant. I merely called out Glorioso for his line of BS. Yes, the Saints were a good team during the bounty period. If you read the thread, you will realize that Glorioso first took the position that everyone does it all the time. Every team has bounties. When that did not float, he tried testing the waters on the claim that Sean Payton was innocent of wrong doing. I don't like liars. I went after him. This Sunday the team that plays best on that day will win. With the loss of Drew Brees, we do not really know what we will face against the Saints. Taysom Hill has looked almost unstoppable, and he has look pedestrian. The defense has been good, but suddenly looked great against the Falcons. The Falcons defense looked great against the Raiders, and has looked pedestrian to bad earlier in the season. The offense was looking good in the first half of most games, and non-existent in the second halves. Now, the offense looks modestly good through four quarters. Which Falcon defense will show Sunday? Which Falcon offense will show Sunday. I guess we will know by Sunday evening.

Again, not to derail - but the original claim came from Zigi Wilf ( owner of Vikings ) and Childress immediately following the NFCGGC- which was later backed up by info from Mike Cerullo- an asst coach fired in 2010. The allegations were that we were the ONLY team to have a bounty program at that time. That was simply untrue. ( thats the sham ) - the punishment for SP was widely known because Goodell said his suspension was "if he didnt know, he should have known ( as HC of the SAINTS )" His "fault" was not having full control of GW ( which had been widely reported that GW was given carte blanche of defense and not to be interfered with ) So yeah, you got your confirmation bias dialed up to 10 pal. I dont care if you respond to me or not, but make sure your FACTS are the FACTS.

It was done for PR vs concussion issue that was rising in the NFL. Thats all that ever was. Every team had a pay for hits program. Furthermore, every team knew to target the QB- if you get him out the game, the game changes. So you can continue to believe that bounty gate was a real thing that only the SAINTS incorporated if thats what you want to do. But the veteran NFLers know the real deal. Second, you said your team would "bounty gate them to death on Sunday" I replied AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA because, if my memory serves me correct, yall havent "bounty gated" much defensively this year and especially in game 1 of our meetings. So unless your team found a defensive baller, i suspect you will see much of the same from game 1. Debo to spy Hill effectively removing him from coverage/plays and a pretty stout run game from the Saints. Mix in some throws by Hill to keep yall guessing and we win something like 24-14 or 24-16. WTH are you on about. Players around the league were irate. Saints fans lol. falconsd56
