from SoFl Dawg - 11/19 So…recruiting update. Heard this morning that Xavian Sorey may stay with his initial timeline which is before Thanksgiving. If he chooses to do so, we’re sticking with

It's official. Yuuuuuge pickup for Coach Scott.

Tomorrow is going to be a great day! Get those GIFs ready. Our 22 DL class is going to be great

Thoughts from SoFl that Dawgs have lost momentum on recruiting trail with some top targets like Sorey & Arnold and may trail UF - also how the narrative on recruiting trail against Kirby and Dawgs

If shine is getting knocked off us for a loss to Florida.. what the heck do we call Tennessee? Thats a train wreck right now. Id stay far away from that lol. Playing time i guess.

You’re comparing apples and oranges here imo. UF is and always will be a problem especially if they have the right coaching staff. They’re financial viable, outrank us in academics, and have a donor base that’s proven they’re willing to cut the checks if things are headed in the right direction. Can’t say any of those things about UTjr.

Secondly, the shine as it relates to Arnold and Sorey was always a battle between these two schools. It’s not that we lost but how we lost. It’s narratives of doing less with more, talent not being maximized, and talent (especially this year) disgruntled with staff.

I’ll be the first to admit fu caught lightning in a bottle this year on offense with a ideal combination of experience and talent but it is what it is. There’s questions that exist about us.

Campbell vs. Surtain- why is Surtain a lock for first and Campbell isn’t? Weren’t they 1-2 from same HS staff? Arnold has heard that pitch from Bama.

Why do we have 5 star caliber WRs that consistently run lazy routes, know half of the playbook (preventing us from begetting more creative with getting them open), drop 1/5 of their on target passes and others don’t? WR development is being questioned.

Why do we have five stars stacked on defense but none are 1st or 2nd team all SEC? These are legit questions that competition does a great job of planting doubt with these kids and their families.

It may be unfair to say Kirby hasn’t won a chip yet, but how long of a grace period should he get when we sign 3 #1 classes in 4 years? Doing less with more is a legitimate criticism/question five years in. “This is the shine that’s off the program to a degree”.

Agree or disagree is fine, but to continue to ignore it doesn’t alter the narrative on the trail. Even fully healthy against bama, did we look like a championship team at any point? We’re underperforming even on defense, especially on defense where expectations were higher. 33 first downs given up to bama.

Most will view it as too little too late but one of the best weeks of practice for our offense. We have a QB.

Really is too late tho unfortunately. Also don’t trust the staff to not just throw Bennett back in.

I don’t see it as too little too late, especially if it prevents him from transferring.  And how much truth is there to Dwan possibly playing some wr?

Can't really be viewed as too little to late since it's been reported that JTD simply hasn't been healthy enough to play up until now. But it's still good to hear he's finally reached that point.

If JT came in and played extremely well it would do a ton for the fanbase morale.   At this point, just want to feel good about 2021.

That’s true too. But I still don’t like how Dwan struggles and he’s pulled while Bennett gets multiple games.

There was NO other option. Beck has checked out mentally, JTD was still limping around, and Dwan had his own health issues after the Tenn game to deal with. Kinda hard to pull Bennett when the next option is likely Kearis Jackson or a PWO.

Can you blame Beck for checking out? Dude has seen how we have a QB struggle and we just say meh and let them keep going or one struggles his first game and we yank him. It’s inconsistent and I’m sure it’s the same behind the scenes.

This is a bad year to be a true freshman wanting to play at QB.. they’re simply wasn’t enough practice time in the summer for freshman QBs to jump in seamless. Heck, true freshman across the board haven’t played much at any position

I worry about any true freshman who has checked out.
