Very good article promoting Louis Riddick as next Falcons GM

Recommended Posts

One of the things that stood out for me is it was said he has the ability like Belichick, to draft or sign players that would be considered polarizing, but they thrive in the culture that Riddick sets for a organization.

I like everyone except the last three

Had a decent season under Glanville in 1992.

One of my personal requirements is to have a former player as GM.  Riddick fits that bill well.

Would Riddick be better as a head coach?

He belongs on the list but so do Dobbs and Wolf.

We need a person that can build through the draft and not be constantly forced to hand out huge contracts to avoid leaving a void in the roster.  We need a person that can build a team that is three-deep.

Matt, Julio, Grady and Deion are all worthy of their big contracts IMO. Freeman and Beasley were obviously a mistake. Freeman because of injuries imo.

I’ve always respected  the opinions of Louis. Always straight up and no BS. Certainly worth an interview. Since he worked with Andy Reid, I would assume he has a relationship with Eric Bienemy.  He has a good bit of front office experience.

A minority GM hire a minority coach would be a good look to players who are looking to sign with a team as a FA..    aside from that, a fresh new  perspective on players is what the Falcons need...    I think EB would make  Ryan, julio calvin, Hurst,  and TG3 look like a a chiefs  caliber offense...
