Yeah, there's no doubting the Braves were the #2 team in MLB this year. The Dodgers were just slightly better. Nobody stood toe to toe with them like we did all season. The Rays were a fluke play away from being done in 5. The NLCS was the World Series. JDFIII

I just hope this is a justification for Liberty Media to open their checkbooks. It feels like we need a clear cut showing that we are among the top teams in MLB in order for our owners to actually pony up for players like Ozuna and Bauer. I'm worried that the Liberty Media may use this postseason to say "Hey, we almost got it done. Let's keep it this way."

ATLFalcon36
Apparently the DH will go back to AL only next year. If this is true bye Ozuna

The DH was an agreement for 2020 only. Theres some speculation that MLB will look to make it permanent but we don't know if it'll happen yet. They have to get the union and owners to agree on a permanent deal. Its up in the air but as of today there will be no DH in 2021. We know it will be added in 2022. The current CBA expires after 2021 and its long been assumed that the universal DH will be added in the new CBA prior to 2022.

I hope they approve it for 2021, to me it was so vastly better for the game outside of games Fried didn't pitch 😛 Not to mention it expands the market for aging vets that can still hit, but have degraded fielding skills (like Ozuna). If this is true bye Ozuna That's not necessarily true. People keep saying that but when the Braves signed Ozuna there was no DH in the NL. He was gonna play LF every game. If they felt comfortable doing that once then I see no reason they wouldn't be comfortable doing it again. Also, as unknown points out, there is still hope we might get the DH in the NL in 2021. They would just have to amend the current CBA like they did this year when they agreed to it. I think everyone is in favor of that happening for 2021. It's just a matter of the MLBPA and owners agreeing to it. CrimsonFalcon
ATLBrave
With the strong likelihood that the DH is permanent in 2022, I would not let an absence in '21 dissuade you from re-signing Ozuna. As @AUTiger7222 correctly notes, we were fine with it before the DH ever appeared this year, so doubt it would influence the FO's opinion for what is most likely a single season. Unknøwn
We should have an offer out to Ozuna within the next 5 days. I would imagine Anthopolous would like to see if he would jump on something before anyone else can talk to him. Ozuna expressed regret for dragging it out last year. I would offer him 3/$20M per year right now and not think twice. I think Ozuna likes it in Atlanta enough that he would jump on that instantly, especially since he didn't like the way free agency went for him last year. AUTiger7222
Darren O'Day has a $3.5M option for 2021. I don't see any way the Braves don't exercise that deal and bring him back. That's a steal for a quality reliever. falconsd56
LouDog
I'd like to see us sign Greene and Melancon to new deals. And Ozuna if possible.

Would be a good addition. Hand would be 1 year $10M. Cleveland put him on waivers hoping to avoid the $1M buyout he has. Id be shocked if he made it to the Braves on waivers. Phillies and some other clubs should be allllll over that. ATLBrave and AUTiger7222

Guy looked much different in the postseason and that ended up hurting us because he wasn't reliable enough to put into the typical rotation to get out elite competition. I trust AA to replace him at a cheaper cost, but if this is a sign of a money move I'd get rid of Will Smith for an elite bench bat. 40M is way too much for a guy who had the type of struggles he did.
