You know what's funny about them being in that division? Their original owner was given the choice of being in the central or east division and chose the east and the Tigers moved to the central to make room in the east. He said he wanted to be in the same division with the Yankees and Red Sox because then people would come and watch his team play.

They were sure on to something...

It is astounding the difference between prior ownership and the group they have now.

Gee who could have predicted an ATL pro team would blow a series lead in historic fashion, oh yeah I did cause it's pretty easy these days.

The only purpose for Ga sports teams is to disappoint the fanbase. No matter what the odds are GA sports teams will always find a way to blow it.

This one hurts. We played hard, we proved we belong, we had every opportunity to close it. We had the lead in the 6th inning twice with the chance to advance. To beat the best you must play clean baseball. We did not do that. The Riley/Swanson debacle, Ozzie running by 1B after a missed tag, Ozuna forgetting to tag up, too many guys trying to hit the ball 800 ft instead of just get the runner home. Too many mistakes to beat a team like LA. The Dodgers played clean, fundamental baseball and they won. We're young and inexperienced this deep into the postseason. It definitely showed against a team thats been there so many times. Our window is just beginning but we have to play better.

Great season! These Braves did far better than anyone expected them to do and I am proud of their progress in the playoffs. We lost 1 game short of the WS, but that sure beats the alternative of not being there until the end!

I am a glass half full that person and this season was a whole of fun!! It hurt yes, but you can't say it wasn't a fun ride. Try an enjoy it!!

I love my Braves and always will, Thank you!!

Painful. Fun ride yes, but painful. Did I expect to be up 3 - 1 no, but that's what makes it so maddening. All of the choke jobs by the Braves through the 90's, and here we are again. Between, the Falcons, Braves, and Dawgs, it gets tiresome watching them blow leads, and choke games away. I've come to expect it. It's not like an occasional thing, it's EVERY **** TIME! You can't enjoy it, because the whole time you're thinking, who is going to have their head up their *** and cost us this series. Swanson/Riley on the base paths in a super tight game 7. That **** can't happen.

We Georgia sports fans are freaking cursed...

This might not be very popular, but we are not cursed! Being cursed gives these teams an easy way out and gets them off the hook!

The Falcons lost the SB because of poor coaching in 3rd and 4th quarter and a horrible play call. Not a curse! They lost to Dallas in in 1980 playoff, my 1st playoff game and heartbreak, because they let the foot off the gas and Dallas played themselves back in the game. Not a curse.

Braves lost to Twins in WS because Lonnie Smith had one of the worst base running errors ever. Not a curse.  I think it is easy to say we lost this series due to base running errors. Not a curse.

GA lost to Bama in 2012 SECCG because Richt didn't spike the ball. Not a curse. GA lost to Bama in NCG because they pull their foot off the gas. Not a curse.

It is so easy to say it is all a curse when in reality our teams have just not produced! As Atlanta fans, we have let our coaches and players off the hook time and time again because we are nice guys and gals. I am guilty too! Everyone likes to bag on Bama fans because we are so intense or serious or whatever y'all call us, but Bama fans don't put up with this crap. They call out their coaches, the AD, and yes sometimes the water boy!

Until someone says, Ozuna you screwed up, Smart you have dropped ball in the big games, Riley that was so stupid and all of this is UNACCEPTABLE nothing will change.

Well, I’m usually the first one screaming about a Georgia sports curse.  That’s not what this was and this wasn’t a collapse.  This was a hard fought series with two good teams.  Dodgers just made a few more plays/clutch hits than we did.  I am sad, but I’m not upset or pulling my hair out over this.  Hated seeing those guys in the dugout after it was over but they had a great run and I am proud of them.

The fact that this team was able to take the Dodgers to game 7 of the NLCS was amazing when you consider that the only reliable SP for for the entire season was Fried. If Anderson and Wright had not stepped up in September then this team doesn't even win the East because the bullpen would have been absolutely gassed for having to fill all the innings that Robbie Erlin, Josh Tomlin, Touki Toussaint, Sean Newcomb, and Tommy Millone could not fill.

Take the two teams‘ regular season winning percentages and extrapolate them over 162 games:

Braves:  94-68

Dodgers:  116-46

We took them to Game 7 and lost by a run.  Yes the dumb baserunning hurt but the Dodgers had their screwups too.  It seemed the bullpen finally wore out in the last few games.

Game 1 was 1-1 until the 9th and we nearly blew Game 2.  The sole easy win was Game 4.

The only ‘curse’ was making it closer than everyone expected.

You can call it anything you want, but when you go up 3 - 1, you should win the series. If you don't, then you choked. Pretty simple. As far as a curse, nobody is saying that your team has had some voodo done to it, but there is undeniable proof that ATL teams crap the bed when given the opportunity to put the nail in the coffin of opposing teams. It was the Braves of the 90's before the Falcons, but there is a long history of getting it done.

Truth is, the future is SEEMINGLY bright for this group, but NOBODY knows what the future holds. That's why you have to capitalize on every chance you get, and we didn't.

I will say, some of the top guys did perform. Freeman had an OPS of 1.168, Dansby really stepped up in this series with an OPS of .828. Albies also was a beast with a .959. Ozuna came in at .874. Thats a lot more production than Braves teams of the past got. Good experience for them and I know they'll be extra hungry and ready for the moment next year.

The dodgers defense was legit....but the braves mistakes helped them out.

Base running killed the braves... hopefully that is a big point of emphasis during work outs when they resume.
