There were no VCRs until the mid 80s, no networks to rebroadcast it...so you either stayed up or you missed the game. That must sound ridiculous to you young'ns. Usually the best part of the game was halftime, when Howard Cosell did his highlights from that Sunday's games. For a lot of us it was the only time we ever got to see anything from Falcons home games because every **** one was blacked out because they sucked and not enough people showed up to lift the blackout. Back when I was in middle school in the ‘80s we would get the second half recap from the burnouts or guys whose parents both worked the night shift

And I was in both groups lol.
stingbee 621
The packers defense will be the worst so far the Falcons are facing- the Falcons should be able to protect Matt Ryan. This is going to be a close game. It is a Monday night game, and The Falcons will put up a fight. I still give a little edge to Packers, but Packers front 4 is below average. Matt Ryan and running game should have a good night. The defense is the question mark? Grady back is huge and with Kendall. falconsd56

These days watching to see water boil can upstage the Falcons playing football. You at least know the water will boil sooner or later. You can not be so sure the Falcons will play football. You'll already know the outcome by halftime unless the Falcons are up by 50 or more than it will be a nail biter.

Find excuse to move premier game to Monday night to appease the boatload of money ESPN is paying the NFL... NFL ratings would not be tanking if they let us watch our favorite team without having to "buy" the package cause we live in another state. Just leave in the commercials... The tech is there to insert local commercials. And the major advertisers are national companies anyway.... they choose to make it hard to watch. I have to watch the buc's or miami most times. It is their choice to be a dinosaur. I would probably watch more games if I could also view the Ravens regular and still watch the Falcons and the Buc's.

MilleniumFalcon 3,083
This is the type of game that I wouldn't be surprised if the Falcons end up winning. They have those type of games every season... messing up the draft pick order and finishing out with 5-6 wins.
