Truth is Smitty took some of the fall for Ryan and Julio

Perhaps we need to re-visit our philosophy and go back to maulers on both sides of the trenches with a big bruising long range HB. No more of these light in the *** lineman and LBs. We need to spend money on the defense, too. As much grief the defense gets form fans, they are actually playing according to their budget. You get what you pay for.

Then, we need a HC that can restore the discipline, focus, and resilience Mike Smith brought here.

The real common denominator in this choke era is Ryan/TD.

Man I agree. I sure miss the good old days with the winning GM/QB combos we have had in the past. McKay/Harrington. Or maybe Norm Van Brocklin/**** Shiner? Or perhaps Dan Henning/Scott Campbell. And who could forget all those glorious victories we had with Ken Herock/Billy Joe Tolliver. Yes sir, those were good times.

There has never been any good times with this joke of a franchise. Just because they were trash before 08’ doesn’t mean they aren’t trash now.

Relax brother. Just making the point that, relatively speaking, the TD/Ryan era is by far the best era in franchise history.

I can only recall us choking under Smitty in the NFC championship (and the week before but we won), we never had much opportunity to choke in 13 and 14

Tbf the London Lions game was the one that ultimately got Smitty fired. But yeah, mostly our problem with Smitty was we'd fold before the game even started rather than at halftime.
