To me, this is a fail for Matt. All of the action was in the center of the field. As soon as he saw Adams breaking so hard, he should have been keyed in on the slot receiver running a post corner. That was an easy 6, and Matt had time to make that read. Adams ran at Julio directly after the snap. There was zero hesitation. Matt has to see that. If Matt makes that read a couple of times, the safety will get indecisive, because he's forced to choose and he knows that Matt is keyed on him. That's what made Shanny's scheme great. Shanny would have also used motion to make the read easier. One of the safeties would likely have declared coverage pre-snap.

Until Koetter can prove this team has any sought of threat running the football forget about all this disguise or who should get the ball passing down the field.

Teams ******** know we are going to sling it the whole world knows this.We need a ground game until this happens we are screwed.

We don’t need the stat padding we need a consistent presence running the **** football.Asking teams to defend us in more than one dimension.

Shanahan would’ve taught Gage to set a pick by running into him if the safety ID’s it the way Adams did. With Gage streaking vertical and the contact being so far away from the catch it won’t get called. But hey, that’s the difference between a great OC and a not-great one. Not just the play called, but how it’s taught

Had 77 done a better job of handling the stunt on the backside then the play had a chance

The front side actually blocked it up pretty well

I really hope they stop playing, and just let Hennessy take LG fulltime, and let the line gel. IMO, we were better in pass protection when he was in there, and he's way better at setting up the run blocks.

Carp had a decent game...one of his better ones but I think that you are right.

Good lord did we miss out

He literally leaves open Gage running deep because he attacks where he thinks Matt will go. Sneakily runs behind the crowd of DBs in Ryan’s line of sight to blow up the play to Julio. So, if we Telegraph this real hard we could get someone else to bite and hit them deep to Gage next time
