Goober Pyle
https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2020/7/23/21335170/kaleb-mcgary-and-chris-lindstrom-working-out-with-former-falcons-rg-kynan-forney If you’ve been a regular of our website over the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably read an article or two about former Atlanta Falcons right guard Kynan Forney. Forney made news recently for his private workouts with right guard Chris Lindstrom who was the 14th overall selection by the Falcons in the 2019 NFL Draft. On Wednesday night, Forney stopped by The Falcoholic Live to talk about his private workouts with both Kaleb McGary and Chris Lindstrom, and why Falcons fans should feel optimistic about the future of the team’s offensive line. Forney is one of the best right guards in franchise history, playing with the team from 2001-2007. To see him working out with the future of the Falcons future on the right side of the offensive line is a welcomed sight. “One thing as far as both of them are concerned is I’ve noticed that they’re not afraid to work,” Forney said on The Falcoholic Live. “They’re not afraid to ask question. Sometimes you get a lot of young guys who feel like they know it all. Sometimes with first-round picks you know, they come in with a lot of prestige and a lot more money, maybe they’re not willing to work as hard. With these two, no — that’s out the door. They don’t have to seek me out, they don’t have to get with me to take their game further. They don’t have to, but they are.” Two weeks ago, Forney went into detail about his private workouts with Chris Lindstrom, who he said is very humble, strong and solid in his technique. Since then, Kaleb McGary heard positive things about their workouts and on Tuesday began working out with 9-year NFL veteran. “I’m trying to help him to make his job easier, he’s already a big strong dude — he looks way better than he did last year,” Forney said. “He’s 330 lbs with some abs, maybe not bricked-up but his stuff isn’t looking like mine, he’s a good looking 330 lbs.” You can hear the rest of our conversation with Kynan Forney in the video above. The Falcoholic Live is streamed live on Youtube every week hosted by The Falcoholic staff writer Kevin Knight. Forney has already agreed to join us in the future to talk more about the team, so keep an eye out for that! citsalp, Jumpin Jehosaphat, HouseofEuphoria and 17 others
Goober Pyle
https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2020/7/5/21312033/falcons-great-kynan-forney-working-with-chris-lindstrom Falcons great Kynan Forney working with Chris Lindstrom Entering the 2019 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons knew they had needs along the offensive line primarily on the right side of the center. The team opted to not only take a right guard in the first round in Chris Lindstrom, but also traded back into the first round for right tackle Kaleb McGary. Lindstrom has a lot of potential and if all things go according to plan, he will finish his career among Falcons right guard greats such as Bill Fralic, R.C. Thielemann and Kynan Forney. I recently spoke with Forney to get his thoughts on the Falcons current offensive line, and learned that he’s been working with Lindstrom to hopefully get to that next level. “We got a whole lot of talent. They’re all former first round picks. They got a lot of experience last year, and got to play which helps you a lot with your overall growth and being a professional,” Forney told The Falcoholic. “I met Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary when I went up to the facility last year. They’re really good kids. Matter of fact, I just got done working with Lindstrom today. I had him out today just to work with him on some stuff because I want to see him go to the Pro Bowl. Lindstrom was somewhat of a surprise pick for Atlanta, but we got a glimpse of his talent last year after he returned from injury. Forney is impressed, too. “You know, that right guard spot is near and dear to my heart. I told him “whatever I can do to help get you to that all-star game, I’ll do it.” Lindstrom’s very strong, very solid in his technique and a very humble kid. He’s very willing to learn. He’s very willing to take direction and take coaching. He loves to grind, let’s just say that. Also, he didn’t get tired at all during the workout. He was ready for his reps, he was working both left and right sides. I like to do both sides just in case, you never know what can happen. I was just trying to show him a few tricks to help him progress.” Kynan Forney knows a thing or two about the right guard position. He played for the Falcons from 2001-2007, playing alongside Falcons offensive line greats such as Todd McClure and Todd Weiner. In 2004 and 2005, the Falcons rushing attack ranked as the best in the league and Forney was a Pro Bowl alternate in each of those seasons. It’s great to see Lindstrom openly willing to learn from one of the better guards in Falcons history. Forney constantly praised Lindstrom during our conversation, and told me that he’ll be working with him again during the week. Personally, I’d like to see the team bring in Forney for a possible consultant or assistant role to work with the offensive linemen. Lindstrom will enter the 2020 season with no real competition for the right guard job, and if he’s as good as Forney believes he is, the Falcons could be set at right guard for the next decade. My conversation with Kynan Forney is apart of a larger piece that will be coming to The Falcoholic. We discussed everything from his time on the Falcons to his current status of working with young offensive lineman such as Chris Lindstrom and Andrew Thomas, to hopefully reach that next level in their young NFL careers. atljbo
Im excited about this O-Line... We have young talent with NFL experience now..... I think our young athletic line will shine in the zone blocking scheme. What i hope this coaching staff doesnt do is some dumb **** like starting James Carpenter at LG and having some type "competition" ..... We need this line to have as much time working together as possible..... Start Gano or Henny and let them Gel with the line. slick0ne, Tim Mazetti, Ergo Proxy and 1 other 3

Gonobeast
Gono should be LG Gives Falcons one of the youngest starting ol in the league. Hennessey becomes C in a year then the line is 23-25 yrs old with the exception of Matthews. Lots of upside with that you hope. Ergo Proxy
Underrated thread. If Gono can convert to the left side and Hennessy gets going after studying Mack in person for a year? Could be a solid starting 5 rest of Matt’s career. Matthews might even be gone before Ryan if the investment into the OL pays off. At some point, Matthews can be replaced with a potential upgrade to save on the cap if they do it right. I was sorta wondering if Gono would fit that role. It’s not that I want Jake gone, but you need a roster with options trained out a year or two in advance. That’s optimization. You love to see these guys taking their craft seriously and like a true pro by not settling for “just getting by”...not surprised Chris is the one to dabble and get Kaleb on board. Side note, I totally delivered to McGary’s house a few weeks ago. VTCrunkler and slick0ne
Ergo Proxy
One of the guys made a great point in video with Forney that the Falcons drafted “NFL ready” guys this year and it seems to be a brilliant move in the short-term at least because any project type pick has been severely hindered from being able to contribute at a high level as a rookie. Think about it...these past several months no chance to have a “normal” prep ahead of their rookie season? Guys coming from SEC and Clemson like Marlon and AJ should be ahead of many other rookies. Of course, with no preseason they are still behind where they normally would be. But, worst case is we run Sheffield out there like we did when Tru was hurt last year and slide AJ in when we go to Nickel, etc. Marlon can carve out a spot in the DL rotation himself. Also, could you guys imagine if we had a brand new coaching staff? We’d be so far behind! Keeping DQ and then drafting safe picks that can contribute quickly might give Atlanta the edge. I’d expect Carolina to struggle by contrast. Tim Mazetti and VTCrunkler
