Freeman Is Fired By His Agent

This should be interesting.  Clearly Freeman thinks he is worth more than he is.  Gurley on a 1 year 5 million deal but Freeman  turns down 1 year four million

Devonta Freeman's already uncertain NFL future hit yet another snag Sunday night.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reported that Freeman's agent, Kristin Campbell, notified the free-agent running back that she's terminating their relationship. Campbell notably negotiated the five-year, $41.25 million extension Freeman signed with the Falcons in 2017 that made him the highest-paid RB in the game.

Freeman, 28, still remains a notable name on the free agent market nearly four months after being released by Atlanta. A deal with the Seahawks in late May appeared imminent but talks fell through at the last minute, leading to Seattle's decision to sign Carlos Hyde. Silver noted at the time that Freeman believed he was worth more than the one-year offerthat was on the table. He was set to make up to $4 million on that deal.

Silver also reported shortly after the end of those talks that the six-year veteran insisted he is open to sitting out next season if his contract number isn't met. The Buccaneers briefly expressed interest in June, prompting Freeman to tell the team via Twitter they could reach out to him directly. Of course, nothing materialized from that exchange.

With some teams still looking to add depth ahead of training camp, which is set to commence in a couple short weeks, it'll be interesting to see how things play out for Freeman now that he's without representation.

Hindsight is always 20/20, and the injuries and the missed games make things look worse than they could have been, but man, that contract hurts. Most of the league sees what most of us last year: Freeman isn't the back he used to be. I still don't understand why they were willing to trade Sanu but not Freeman. For those more Knowledgeable than me, what a trade mid-season last year have meant a worse cap hit this year compared to releasing him with a post June 1 designation?

Pout about money during the most important week the city has ever seen since 95 and then deny the whiffed block was his responsibility.

Well that's not what happened but whatever. And you don't know what his responsibility was on that play. It's easy to look at it and say it was but regardless none of that should fall into this "karma" conversation as he's never done anything to hurt his team with malicious intent.

We have a winner...his camp could have waited till after the super bowl to start that contract crap..he would have gotten paid regardless.i will always have a small bitterness toward him for that.

You guys go and take a job for less than you're worth. I don't blame Free. He's been injured the past 3 years. I would rather retire.

Actually people do that so they can be happy in the real world.

Also, theres a difference between what you're worth and what you think you're worth. Huge difference

He missed a block on a play that we should have been running the ball anyway. You guys can't hate this man, and spazz over Shanahan.

If he made that block we be Super Bowl champs  but it’s ok and Shanahan just went to the Super Bowl again

May be a huge difference, but as a person (athlete or normal blur collar) you have a right to choose.
