My gut says he is a product of Shannahan knowing how to create space in the run game.  Can’t overlook that he has been cut 6 times in his short NFL career. With that said, dude was a beast in the 2nd half of last season:

“Over the second half of the season, Mostert averaged 5.7 yards per carry on 82 rushes. Twenty of those went for first downs, and 14 went over 10 yards. He averaged 3.59 yards after contact (seventh in the NFL) and avoided 15 tackles, “

I love guys with this kind of perseverance.  Hope he gets paid big time:

“Mostert left his home state a decade ago, determined to put his tortured family life behind him. He never knew his father, he doesn’t speak to his mother, and his stepfather is in prison for attempted murder after shooting his younger half brother four times on Father’s Day 2014. When Mostert was no more than 4, he picked up a loaded gun left in the house and shot himself in the foot...”

Local news reports back then said that his half brother, then 18, had broken up a fight between his parents. Mostert’s stepfather had his hands on his mother’s throat, police reports said, and when his mother fled, his father shot his son four times with a .22 caliber handgun in his abdomen, hip and elbow. As the teen ran out of the house, the father shot one more time and missed. After surgery, the brother recovered.”

I think something is wrong with his head, he bouta get the starting job, the recognition and everything. Probably get a new contract next year if he has a good year. Im not giving a new contract to someone that was *** for 6 seasons and had half of a good season unless they show me they can earn it. Should just stay in SF, he'll go back to being irrelevant if he comes here

If 49ers didn't have Mostert last year, they aren't in the Super Bowl.  Anyone remember the NFCCG?  Yeah...

If Mostert didn't have the 49ers last year, he'd be flipping burgers.

Nice guy? Maybe. Good story? Definitely. Do I respect his perseverance, and wish him well? Absolutely.

Just not in (or AGAINST!) Atlanta.

Mostert literally had to split carries with Coleman, Breda and who ever else they had in the back field.  Mostert had to play special teams as well.  Mostert is a special player and you would be a blinded fool not to admit it

None of what you said makes him a special player...really it goes against it because special RBs generally don’t fight for carries nor do they play special teams. He had a good stretch, but he’s JAG.

Not to mention he has been in the league 6 years and his first good season. He's not really a pass catcher like Mckinnon or Coleman. It helps also that he took alot of teams by surprise and they had no tape on him

Right, did you not watch his play last season? None of the players on the Falcons could have done what he did.  I don't think any player in Falcons history could have ran like he did.

Lol Riggs had 200 yards in a game, Turner had 200 yards in a game, Freeman had like 160 in a game. H3LL even Snelling had 147 yards , dont make up that lie. Did you ever see Andrews play ??
