FalconsIn2012
Patriots reportedly get big cap space boost because of Aaron Hernandez, Antonio Brown grievances getting cleared up All of a sudden the Patriots are in a good space with their salary cap. After having less than $1 million a week ago, the Patriots now have close to $8 million. Listen Live Now on WEEI According to ESPN's Mike Reiss and Field Yates, the Patriots have received settlements in compensation grievances with Antonio Brown ($4 million) and Aaron Hernandez ($2.55 million) so now the team nos has $7.79 million in salary cap space for the 2020 season. It appears the $4 million from Brown comes from his $9 million signing bonus last season when he got $5 million up front and then was going to get $4 million down the road. Hernandez's money is a bit unclear, but it's likely related to his $3.25 million signing bonus installment that the team held onto following his release back in 2013.
