The Great American
DQ's new slogan: "Hype without results mean nothing." One of my favorite Falcons! If I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with one player then Neal would be my guy. blkbigdog35, Sportsman2593, RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall and 1 other

Really missed him these past two seasons and I'd argue his absence was the difference between 7-9 seasons and the playoffs. Stryka
I’d agree. Neal’s presence was a big factor in our overall defense. He’s a stud vs the run and always solid vs the pass. The enforcer tag brings some extra “clout” his way. Lol. Hoping that injuries are a thing of his past. 7 minutes ago, JayOzOne said: If we get 80% of Neal for 17 weeks this season, it's going to be a very good year. Right now, I expect to hold my breath on every play just like I did with Free. Soft tissue injuries are the worse because something as simple as a mistimed step can destroy a career. I’m obviously biased but I think he makes us forget about the injury this year. Lot of time off. He’s got Rico to lean on who had a similar injury before. I think he is fully ready to go this year. 3 times in a row just would be outlandish.

LightningDawg58
Here's the full interview. The context of the quote was, they asked him how he felt about the hype in his division surrounding TB and New Orleans. He said he had respect for those guys. And they would be fired up to go against them, but "hype without results means nothing." New Jersey Falcon
He seems mentally good and mentioned that too. Season ending injuries 2 years in a row can definitely mess with your head. Praying he stays healthy.

HouseofEuphoria
Would love to see him playing healthy and 100%. Always loved Neal, and definitely noticed his absence. Would also not mind a random Jamaal Adams signing from out of the blue.... just for future interests. Nothing wrong with a backup plan when you got no future if you fail. I feel the chances or seeing Neal at the top of his game are about 10 times greater than the chances that we will see Gurley at the top of his. Neal had two injuries of the "can happen to anyone on any given play" type. Its not like he's got a recurring issue or a degenerative condition. He's 24 (25 in July) and 90% of his body has the wear and tear of a 23 year old player. Spliff and blkbigdog35

I thought it was interesting they said he was in his late twenties entering his 30's. I was like, nah. Keanu, if he wants it, has a lot of football left in front of him. I remember some of the people that were ready to throw away Grimes after his injury, when he had several more pro bowl caliber seasons left in the tank. Citing there was no way he could bounce back to form after his surgery. Im like, do y'all not pay attention to modern advances in sports medicine. Keanu is the same way. His body has had essentially 2 years of bruising contact removed from his timeline. He looks very healthy and I disagree he needs to add weight. He has a ton of good football left in him, and hopefully he gets to showcase it in a Falcons uniform.

Adding more weight than he's ever been used to might be a dangerous thing for him right now. It could put more stress on his body. He may need gradually do it over the court of another year.
