Grimes was not better post Falcons. He was definitely the best corner we had in the last 10 years after that its asante samuel then Trufant

Even had 3 pick 6’s. Vandy and Peteshweddy

Grimes only played 2 seasons (2010-11) for falcons in this past decade. And his best seasons as a pro were indeed post-ATL with Miami and Tampa. If so, think of all the games Matt Bryant won for us or played a key factor in us winning that we would not have won without him. That is what it stands for, yes, but it’s also as the name implies. You can’t say we wouldn’t have won without him, as we don’t know if we had another kicker if he makes those kicks or not. This is also over the course of a season/career, you can’t look at it simply as a last play of the game that he won the game for us, how many other things went right to get us in position to give him that chance. There is a reason kickers aren’t paid a ton. I love Matt Bryant, but kickers by nature have very little impact on the outcome of a game. There are games that they never even attempt a field goal, maybe only a couple extra points, meanwhile other players see 50-60+ snaps easy, where would you rather invest your money? LightningDawg58
Trufant has made an impact on really just one winning season and that was 2017 in which he actually played in his only playoff games. Outside of that he has been an "impact" guy on some of the worst teams of the past decade. I cant consider him an MVP for anything. Bryant won us big games, Freeman was phenomenal for a stretch, heck even Jarrett has had more of an impact than Trufant if you ask me. But if we have to choose the body of work over the decade then its Matt Bryant by a mile
