papachaz
I only opened this because I expected to see a list of the names of people he blocked on twitter or IG..... wait wait wait, I musta been thinking of Campbell Ergo Proxy, Lowndesfalc, Knight of God and 7 others 3
PokerSteve
And this is the player if we were to lose him, it would cripple our offense? WOW. We know one thing before the first preseason practice ~ Hayden Hurst can't possibly be worse at blocking, so if he's even close to Hooper in receiving stats, we're way ahead of last year's performance at TE. ATLskinjob
I don't understand why we gotta hate on a player that worked his butt off for this team after he's gone. Hooper was a good TE for us and did a lot of work with Matty in the off-season to build chemistry. Just let it go. This is why our players hate our fans. BirdGangATL
We need toilolo back, his blocking is legit and he also lined up at tackle when we had everyone on the o line hurt. wuskillzz
atljbo
Listen man... Im not about to sit here and knock Hoop because he is not here... I hate when fans do that..... I will say this tho... Ive always felt like he was a good TE but i think the fit in this team (Teams focusing on Julio and now ridley and the run game) with Matt Ryan developing a good QB to TE relationship help him thrive... Thats why ive always felt that its no way we can pay him the price he would demand... I do think Hurst will also thrive if he stay healthy red falcon and vitaman
Mister pudding
Besides Kittle, receiving TE usually aren't very good blockers tbh. Supposedly Hurst is good at both... that will help things out
falconsd56
That is why it is silly to put the run issues on just the oline or just the backs or just DK. Several of these plays show that had one guy missing his assignment meant the difference between a short gain and a more substantial gain. It is all about everyone being on the same page. Because it’s Hooper now some are saying to stop criticizing. atljbo

I dont think is criticizing saying hoop benefited from the scheme or wasnt worth the falcons spending that that much money.... Doesnt mean he wasnt a probowl TE.... Cant take that away from him but we had to do what we had to do

quotemokc
Every player misses their assignments sometimes. What I want to know is what Hooper's good/bad block ratio was. If these examples are the only ones then its not so bad. Edited May 29, 2020 by quotemokc Atl Falcon

Its not about the player, its about the internet warriors. People here and on twitter, saying Hooper leaving was a huge mistake, etc etc. They couldnt understand that he was a poor blocker and couldnt stretch the field , but wanted to pay 11mill to the kid. Nope! GrimeyKidd

Rings
Let’s see if this impacts people’s view on him. People around here wrote off Freeman for the rest of his career because of one missed blocked, which you could tell he was confused what he was supposed to do on that play, and he was actually a good blocker.
