OFFER OUR 1st next year...

Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports that though the Jets are not actively shopping Jamal Adams, they will listen if other teams call.

Robinson also reports that despite that stance, the Jets have not granted Adams' agent permission to facilitate a move. The Jets continue to claim they have "no plans" to deal their disgruntled young defensive back, but Adams is still steamed about last fall's trade attempts. This well may be too poisoned. An easy solution would be to give Adams his desired extension, but Robinson reports Gang Green is adamant that he wait until next offseason. Adams wants to do anything but. Robinson reports the Cowboys have yet to circle back since last year's failed talks. This drama isn't over.

Jets want 1st and 3rd I heard, Adams wants a new contract too.  Will have to get really creative with cap space, especially with us pushing so much into future years already.  I’d be pumped though.

This is the kind of move you make for a player of this caliber.

Give them exactly what the Steelers gave up for fitzpatrick and tell them they have to take carpenter and his cap hit

I'd be all in, only very concerned of the "new" contract. We have overspent so much on a few, that there's going to be a reckoning day. Some know better here, so I ask can the proposed contract be negotiated and approved as part of the trade? We flat don't need to make a trade of this magnitude without knowing the overall cost.

You were reeling me in until you mentioned Clowney, but I got off the hook.

Thinking it would have to be a sign and trade. Trading prior to negotiations would be absurd imo

Just spitballing; here but...

Would you trade:

 Falcons 2021 1st & 3rd (Hooper comp pick?)
Calvin Ridley

for

Jets' 2021 2nd
Jamal Adams

I am one of biggest proponent of Jamal Adams trade but this is the dumbest thing I have seen here today. Why would you take a strength of the team and make it weakness to address an upgrade. Trade a 2021 first round and win now. This is the mentality which gets the team in trouble.

Sounds like a good deal to me.
