I’m not gonna lie, the Falcons are being completely slept on by odds makers.  They are a great bet if you have spare change you can afford to bet.  It’s hard to believe the Falcons have the worst odds to win the NFC South.  Right now they are +1,000 to win the NFC South and that is an arbitrage IMO.  I just can’t imagine other sports books having the same odds for the Falcons. That is a great bet

I think our offense is good enough but we would need a miracle turn around from the defense,   Gosh, I hope you're right!!

I have the opposite approach.  With Morris & Whitt, Im confident the defense will do its part.  We will see about the offense

It's really not hard to believe.   We have a bottom dwelling defense and a middle of the road offense.

I'm a self-proclaimed homer. I try to be objective, and I hit that mark on rare occasions. But to say the Falcons' D is bottom dwelling is, in my opinion, not really taking into account the vast improvement in the last half of the season last year. If you really look at their performance, they were middle of the pack at worst. Middle of the road in the NFL is vastly different than bottom-dwelling.

It's not out of the realm of possibility.  NO has been really healthy the last few years.  While I don't wish injury on anyone, it is inevitable and they are kinda due to get hit with the bug.  Carolina has a new HC, new QB, new system, new defense and could struggle to find their identity (especially with COVID-19 and not being able to get everyone on the same page in a new system).  TB has Brady and Gronk.  New 43 year old QB, new system, no time to work with WRs to get on the same page.

I'm not saying for sure any of this will happen, but the Falcons have continuity on O and D.  They could be primed to at least get out of the gate strong and surprise some people.

I get the logic and excitement for Tampa go jump us, but the Panthers lost their QB, their best player on defense by far, new coach, I just don’t see it.  I’d bet money they finish last in the division.

They lost almost their entire defense and are replacing it almost entirely with rookies. I’m completely dumbfounded with how some people think they might actually be competitive. Unless Matt Rhule is just that amazing of a HC in his first year, I expect them to be complete ***.

Interesting that the Panthers have worse odds to make the playoffs and have lower projected wins but are considered more likely to win the NFCS. Yeah, that seems like a decent line to bet on.

Right...

Also see the Patriots are no longer the favorite to win AFC EAST.  I’d take that bet

Patriots no longer odds favorite to win division, per Caesar’s Sportsbook

The defense isnt that far off.

I'm not seeing a very talented group on defense.  I think we have only 2 players that would be considered Top 5 at their respective positions.  We really earned our 28th ranking last season.

But as you said, we are not that far off.  I'm hoping we can get into the Top 15 this coming season but I'm still not sure that good enough to win the division.
