Seems like rescuing dogs during lockdown is a thing around here. It happened to us this past week. This guy wandered up dirty and skinny, playing with my daughter in the front yard. After a few days o

It's actually sorta what makes Rockstar sandboxes especially like GTA/RDR2 so great is that there isn't some doom clock so ****ing about still feels organic and not immersion breaking.

Zelda would be pissed if she knew how much time Link spent collecting outfits and fishing while Ganon was Biden sniffing her hair (I assume, I haven't actually played a Zelda game in 20 years)

Granted, these are in the greater context of the nascent #MeToo movement, but that was probably the most common retort I heard from my friends during the Kavanaugh hearings as well. I heard it from television personalities as well. (most of my Democrat friends aren’t exactly free thinkers when it comes to partisanship, something I could also say of most of my Republican friends). It was the excuse de jour. Of course, I knew it was bull**** then.

They knew it too.

The bolded part of this comment is rich coming from the same guy who used these Biden allegations to spend a good 5 pages of this thread passive aggressively complaining about how Brett Kavanaugh was treated. I know a lot of you guys on this board like this guy because you've known him for a long time and he comes off as intelligent but he spouts so much right-wing BS wrapped in intellectual language that's never really challenged.

I hate defending the media but the Reade and Blasey-Ford allegations are not the same. For one, Blasey-Ford has more evidence in her testimony that can be independently corroborated. She could describe the layout of the house the assault happened in, the people who were at the party, the date it occurred, and the context of the party. All of these things could be and were independently verified by journalists. Unfortunately because of the context of Reade's alleged assault, there isn't much for a journalist to look into to support her account. She said she told a few people and those people have been spoken to a corroborated that she said it. But no editor would let you run a story saying

And to complain that this was getting enough traction as Kavanaugh is asinine. Kavanaugh's allegation dropped a few weeks before he was to be confirmed so there was more urgency in vetting it out to make sure an alcohol abusing rapist wasn't going to be our next SC judge. There's still a lot of time left to look into Reade's allegations and I hope that investigations happen.

There's this narrative on the right that Brett Kavanaugh is a good man who was unfairly slandered by the Democrats. The fact you've bought into this partisan lie shows that you're not as much of a free thinker as you believe yourself to be. Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing showed that, at the least, he'll straight up lie to get what he wants. We all know he lied about what those words on his calendar meant and he went into a petty, belligerant tirade when a senator asked him about his alcohol use. And I'm not even going to go into his Trumpian rant of an opening statement, which should have immediately disqualified him, because others already have.

But it makes sense that you'd choose to ignore all this. I still remember you being practically giddy when Kavanaugh was announced as the nominee and immediately saying the story was ******** when the assault allegations broke. It reminded me of how you used your very first post after Parkland to complain about how this would give gun grabbers another excuse to come after your guns. Either way, you're just as much of a sheep as so many of your friends and the people on this board who you look down on.

I'm not crazy about being called a hero. This is the profession I have chosen and I knew the inherent risks going in. Much like those in the military. My lawn guy tried to give me a huge discount last weekend and I just gave it back to him in the form of a tip. I consider teachers and guys like him heroes because they do necessary things that I know I couldn't or wouldn't want to do. That how a functioning society works.

But..... if you see me out somewhere once this is over and want to buy me a bourbon, I'm not going to turn it down. ;)

We live in a majestic capitalist society that is now under siege from “people” and “workers” who just want their fair share, and I help large companies deal with their legal problems. So in a way, aren’t I probably the biggest hero of them all?

Your opinion is not evidence. Her main witness failed to corroborate her story followed by the other three she mentioned being at the party.

Christine Blasey Ford failed to provide a single witness who could back her claims that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party. She could not remember the date the party took place, whose house she was in, how she got there or how she got home — and a key witness, Leland Keyser, said she had no recollection of the party, much less the alleged incident. But Ford’s unsubstantiated allegations were enough for Senate Democrats to smear Kavanaugh as an attempted rapist in an effort to keep him off the high court.

Keyser described having many more reservations than she initially let on. She said she tried to assemble the details as described by Ford, but she called her attorney and told him, “You know what, I don’t feel good about something.”

Ford said in her testimony that she left after the alleged assault but wasn’t sure how she got home, other than that she didn’t drive home. Ford also said there were at least four boys at the party — three that she was able to name — along with Keyser, but that there could have been more.

This new interview suggests that someone who could have been a star witness for Ford, though, is anything but.

Moving on, do you find this curious at all?

Biden is not alone in his hypocrisy. Not one Democratic senator who backed Ford in 2018 has said a word in support for Reade. Apparently, Democrats’ mantra is: Believe the women … but only if their accusations help our pursuit of political power. This is actually not a new mantra, but a return to the old one of the 1990s, when Democrats covered up for President Bill Clinton’s sexual misconduct so they could hold onto power. They became #MeToo warriors in 2018 to stop Kavanaugh from shifting the balance of power on the Supreme Court. Now, they are back to covering up for Biden because he is their only path back to power in the White House. The will to power is all that matters; women are to be believed or discarded based on whether they advance or hinder its pursuit.

ThIs this is Wapo, not exactly a friend of Kavanaugh.

We like saying "employees" in America, (free uninhibited employment)  instead of "workers', as the latter connotes advocacy by anarchists, communists, socialists, and social democrats.  Unless we've moved on from capitalism, which I haven't heard yet, I say we go with the former over the latter.
