Saying we will not be shut down for an entire year isn't downplaying anything.

And since when is "the majority of the world" vaccinated against anything? Finding the treatment will prove less difficult than mass producing it. They are already successfully treating it in at risk patients. At some point they will need to isolate or roll the dice on their life. Many before the few.

Good luck on that, you are completely out of your mind if you thing hundreds of thousands of people are going to be in stadiums all over the country each weekend by the fall. The ONLY way the season is played is if the stadiums are empty.

It won't take a year, mark it.

The people in charge need to be making some drastic changes to their approach then because at the current rate they're not looking so hot.

It’s not the people in charge. They’ve already told everybody to not be out unless absolutely necessary. People in masses are dumb.

We should transition to a partial quarantine, that isolates the elderly and infirm. Right we need to mitigate it's spread so the health care system can build up armaments and readiness. But multiple months long shelter and stay orders are untenable. It would be disastrous economically and quite frankly, unnecessary. Covid-19 is not an existential threat to the young and the healthy.

NFL won’t even be delayed.  Just my 2 cents...

I credit the NFL for going forward with free agency and the draft. NBA is more concerned about optics, they would have surely delayed any of their events.

It’s too early to talk about cancellation. Next 3-4 weeks will probably make it clear.

I like to think that is true. But they cancelled the Olympics instead of postponing it a couple months just about the same time frame that the NFL will start.

Let's do hope that the next 3-4 weeks will indeed bring a miracle so that we all can get back to our normal life.

Polio? Measles? Mumps? Rubella? Tetanus?

Darn right. Why hasn't the president declared Martial Law and put the Army out on the streets to shoot anybody leaving their house? He's risking the lives of our children! Impeach him again!

Olympics is Global event and most countries were withdrawing from the event. NFL is much more local and controlled compared to olympics. I don’t think there will be a miracle in 3-4 weeks. There should hopefully be more clarity on where this may be heading. It gets worse, we may see a delayed NFL 2020.

Its more of hand washing. Those that are sick need to wear the mask. For those that arent sick it's a waste. They are saying it's not airborne. Better chance of getting it through contact.

Our countries shut down.

Essentially you can go out but stay local just with people you live with, walk the dog etc.

Supermarkets are about thee only food places open 100 in them max so the lines are mayhem.1st thing in the morning or last thing at night.Sanitiser on trolleys and hands are a must gloves and masks recommended.

All business bar essential services are thee only people operating everything else is shut down for a month possibly more.

The borders are shut you can’t even travel within the country bar locally to buy food and medical supplies.Outside of that your inside.

They’ve taken a big stance on this down here much like the gun law being introduced after that mass mosque shooting they jump on it and treat it seriously.

The NFL owners will be pushing **** up hill I reckon money be ****ed.

Yes yes big differences in priority and how we respond to crisis. Sounds like you guys are really taking preventative measures.  But limited access to alcohol?  Hah. My county here put us on shelter in place. My friend in Ecuador says they have instituted a curfew from 5pm -2am no going out. First two offenses are fines. Third , jail time.

Hahahaha essential service apparently you can buy beer wine RTDs and alike from Supermarkets but no spirits. So when you say limited I’d say improvise and try other things if your a spirit drinker.

Shelters for us is within your own homes no direct contact with anyone else only the people you live with.If you are in a public place 2 metres or 6-7 feet is the given distance been specified between people.

We have a looser version of a curfew no group gatherings if so the police will warn you the first time escort you back to your homes and if it goes past that they’ll arrest you. What they are praying for here is common sense and not the it won’t happen to me or she’ll be right types. There just basically trying to eliminate risk.

Me I get all my exercise done before 9am and spend the rest of the day online or just acquainting myself with my newborn daughter. So for me it’s no big deal just got to get on with it and hopefully we get on top of this virus world wide not just here.

You mean the current rate as in how we're seeing more cases because they're actually testing more? In which everything happens where it gets worse before it gets better?

As soon as they come up with a way to treat more people this whole thing is moot. It's not that it's a plague, it's that it isn't being treated to the masses yet. Much like any other new virus.

Is it serious? Absolutely. Is it as serious as the economic impact it's making? I don't believe so.

Down play it all you want,  until we get a vaccine and have the majority of the worlds population vaccinated it is going to keep spreading in waves everytime we think the coast is clear and try and go back to normal.

I think the situation may not be quite as bleak as has been the case with most other new strains of flu. Corona virus is related to SARS and a vaccine has been developed for that. Should speed up the timetable for an effective vaccine by many months. In fact in this article some are saying one might be ready in as little as three months, which of course is unheard of for a new virus.

There is no possible scenario where in the fall stadiums full of 70k people are going to happen without a major spike of infections and deaths.

The only way next season is played is in front of empty stadiums.

And we would watch
