Falcons sign XFL TE Khari Lee

Recommended Posts

A little bit about him:

2014: Played in 10 games, catching 34 passes for 389 yards and one touchdown. 2013: 2013: Played in 10 games, hauling in 34 receptions for 352 yards and a touchdown. 2012: Played in 10 games. Caught 27 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns. 2010: Played in 10 games, catching 13 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown.

40-yard dash: 5.03 and 5.06 seconds
Vertical jump: 36 inches
Broad jump: 9 feet, 7 inches
Short shuttle: 4.42 seconds
3-cone: 7.62 seconds
Bench: 18 reps of 225 pounds

Has very capable hands. Catches the ball away from his body and can adjust both high and low to go get it. Carries the seam route well. Will go over a defender to make the catch and retains his focus. Moved all over the field. Used traditionally, from slot, out of backfield and split out. Was effective from each spot. Good body control.

Played a much lower level of competition and wasn't challenged by same level of speed and physicality. Technique as in-line blocker needs polish. Doesn't run his feet at contact as consistently as he should to sustain as a blocker. Average quickness off the snap into routes.

 Priority free agent

 Larry Donnell

Very good athlete whose background as a basketball player is obvious in his body control and positioning. Has good hands and is tough to bring down but will need time to develop against a higher level of competition, despite his potential to play in the league.

Wonder why we didn’t go with Parham?

Besides him signing with the Chargers, he seemed more like a receiving TE and we have that already. Granted, Parham could be a weapon in the right offense.

Some more on him as well... including a highlight from the XFL.  A big body that can catch the ball.  Could be a camp body.. could be our blocking TE.  Anyone know how he is at blocking?

He is 28 and has bounced around a bit:

"He has spent time on four NFL rosters — Houston, Chicago, Detroit and Buffalo. His best year, 2015, came as an undrafted rookie in Chicago, when he started seven games and caught one pass for seven yards. He last appeared in the NFL in 2018 for the Bills.

While out of football, he obtained his real estate license and started selling."
