Former 1st Rd Pick #Lions Linebacker Jarrad Davis is available via trade. 25 Yrs Old will earn under $2M in 2020. Appears to have fallen out of favor with Matt Patricia’s coaching staff.

I actually hate those "Bring him home TD" threads, but would this be an idea for a late pick?

We could cross over linebacker and easier to focus on CB, DT and maybe LG. Just an idea. I think he will fit our hit and run defense.

I'll def be down with this. Cheap vet with upside. Year removed from a 6 sack 100 tackle campaign. Send them next year's 5th and see if they bite.

He's awful in coverage from what I remember hearing.

Still is. My cousin lives in Michigan, so he's forced to watch the Lions. Says the stats look promising, but he's only flashed as a stud. Nothing really special about him. Then again, he did mention that maybe it's just the way the Lions and they're defense as a whole. Either way, a 5th or 6th wouldn't make me roll over for a vet LB with upside to be a good-great player.

Why?

Didn't live up to his draft status?

Seems similar to Duke Riley. Athletic, loves to play, talks like a leader...but he's always missing tackles, blowing plays, even hitting his own teammates.

Duke Riley hasn't put up half the production in his career as Davis's 2018 campaign. Not even close...

I don't expect they'll get much in return - he's hardly pulled up trees in Detroit. They may even release him.

I liked both Davis and Jalen Reeves-Maybin at linebacker in that class and they both ended up with the Lions. Both have underachieved to date though.

He seems like he's good at blitzing and can be really good if in the right situation.

Would you let Ulbrich work with him? I think that's what Davis may need.

If he's cut or we can get him with a 7th, maybe. Otherwise, nah. We don't have a 5th or 6th and a 4th is overpaying imho. He's missing a lot of stuff that makes a LB good in the first place, headwise. But then, guys go places when they switch teams. Van Noy did. I just don't see it rn.

Awful in coverage. Who cares about linebacker sack numbers...that isn't their primary job.

Didn't know he was bad in coverage.

I remember him at Florida and throughout the draft. Lost track of him once he became a Lion.

I mean he'd be decent depth, but that's about it. I wouldn't want him on the field in any passing situation. He's good against the run though.

Yep, go get him.

Did he play under DQ and Florida? Timeline seems similar to Keke.
