Where Comps Stand (As Of Now)

Recommended Posts

Seen a lot of folks talking in the Schweitzer, Beasley, etc threads about comp picks. Currently, this is where things stand:

https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/

We're projected to get a 4th, a 5th, and a 6th. Beasley's is likely to be a 4th once they account for max contract size. It's 12 mil, dunno if OTC has accounted for that yet - new rules in the CBA make comps based on total possible contract value since teams like the Eagles used to manipulate that. One or both of the 4ths could upgrade to a 3rd based on play/Pro Bowls. Still waiting on guys like Devondre Campbell to be signed, and it's likely we cancel out one of the 4ths with our inevitable DE signing, though if we trade or sign a cut player we'd be gravy.

One guy I haven't seen mentioned is Carlos Dunlap. That'd be a terrific add.

Considering the Bengals just franchised AJ Green, it would appear they are trying to keep their veteran players and not be too terrible this season.

Let's hope Campbell signs a big enough contract to get that 4th back.

This and Vic’s return may be determined based on him reaching his max potential earnings or not. So, if he does well enough to it may turn into a 4th.

Still think we should trade for a guy. Get a guaranteed stud and go in to 2021 loaded down with picks.

Lol do you think we’ll need all that draft capital for a rebuild????

It'd be a huge help in alleviating our cap situation. Next year we will need to replace both safeties and all of those expensive ol backups. The 4ths and 5ths will be perfect for that.

Allen isn’t going anywhere, Kazee can definitely end up elsewhere. The front office view Keanu Neal as a core player. I don’t think safety will be a huge issue next year. Possibly replace Neal if he can’t hold up this year.

We might not have a choice depending on how much the cap goes up. Allen can be upgraded and who even knows with Neal?

I know, but Allen is that core communicator on the defense. And if Neal comes back he comes back as a beast or not at all. So your absolutely right.
