Tannehill Got Ryan Money: 30 Mill APY

Was just coming to post this.

It makes Ryan's deal look like a steal ( which it usually does after a year or 2)

Yeah but people just want to keep complaining about how much we're "overpaying" and how much of hinderance Ryan's contract is even though contracts for every position, especially premium positions, go up every year.

Hard to believe Kingsbury couldn’t win with him at Texas Tech.

Do u remember Mahomes as a high school prospect?

I do not at all. I remember watching a few of his games in college and thought he was decent. But nothing like he is now

He should, got his team to the playoffs.. Ryan was vastly overpaid by a owner in Blank that unfortunately believes some of our players are his extended family

You just contradicted your own post. Ryan got his team to the playoffs too. Each time before his extension was signed so...,

“Tannehill deserves that money for going to the playoffs.”

Ryan has more playoff wins, a super bowl berth, and an MVP....gets paid less than Tannehill. “He’s not worth it.”

Tannehill gets 30

Cousins 84 guaranteed I’d like to see Tannehill guaranteed number that’s thee only one that really matters and are they rolling a year into this new extension or is the extension an new contract.

91 million guaranteed

Tannehill has never been more than average and spends too many seasons hurt. Gonna be great to see him be mediocre next season. They should have tagged him and drafted a QB to compete. This is the QB equivalent to the Sam Baker deal.

Waiting for Slums next reply...

Hopefully Ryan will show up this season.. Idk what he's doing this offseason to improve, but ill definitely give him the benefit of the doubt unless he comes out flat as he did last year.. Ryans definitely got to improve on the interceptions he had out of the gate in 2019

Backs are expendable, quarterbacks aren't. At least that's the prevailing wisdom.

Oh no doubt. It’s just funny the gulf that exists. Way too easy to overpay a QB these days but with new CBA teams will be desperate to get ahead of inflation if they are insecure with their future at QB without current starter.

RB isn’t critical to overpaying these days and that’s still true. Doesn’t make a run game unimportant but when it catches on it can be crucial to controlling a game FOR a team with a good to great defense.

It's actually 62 in fully guaranteed.

It’s really not.  After one year it’s 91 million guaranteed

“This translates to $62 million fully guaranteed at signing, with the extra $29 million guaranteed after only one season. Thus, to avoid the $29 million, the Titans would have to cut Tannehill after paying him $37.5 million for one season and owing him $24.5 million for another, subject to offset.”
