Only one year in Matt Ryan career did the Falcons have a winning record when Matt Ryan Attempted over 600 passing attempts.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RyanMa00.htm

2012 was the only year Falcons had a winning record when Ryan attempted more than 600 passes. Last year he attempted 616. Super Bowl year he attempted 534.

This stat should show the importance, of the need for a BALANCED offense that can run the football.

its not an opinion , it’s just facts. He does better than when he has a run game and can play action off that. He is not a drop back and pass frequently kind of qb. Nothing wrong with that, he’s just not a QB that can win without a run game.

Name me a QB that can win without a running game

That's average 37 passes per game.  That only really happens when you're behind in games often.

With a top D, Ryan could throw that much and we could still win.  But with a top D, we'd be in the lead some and would lean on the run more.

So the stats don't say exactly what they seem to, but we do need a better running game for certain.  Ryan has always been deadly off play action.  You don't have to run it a ton, but you need to be effective when you do.

There isn't one that I can think of.  Any past winning SB team has had at least a decent running game.  Teams that rank near 30th in rushing usually don't make the playoff let alone winning the SB.  On the other hand I can think of at least 1 team(Trent Dilfer and the Ravens) that might have had a bottom of the league passing and still won the SB.

It's both sadly.  We have been through this a few times.  The defenses and run game dvoa's over Matt's career have been pathetic.

other factors, no defense means they are playing from behind mostly

But I thought elite QBs carried lifeless teams to SB wins? :(

Not sure what QB has accomplished this...Ryan was actually real close and our team should have won SB51...but nah...every QB winning a SB either got carried...or ya know, played on well rounded teams...

But most people that are casuals Cant think for themselves on this and use emotionally driven media narratives to determine their “logic”

Even Mahomes was carried most of the SB just earlier this month. Kinda like how we came back vs SF in SF this year. :)

Like a broken record.

No QB wins the big game without a running game. Even Rodgers in 2010 had run support between kuhn and Brandon Jackson. Just about every other SB team had a good to great running game. He had a threat of a running game.

This year we did not

Heck look at us in 16. Multi-faceted offenses are a NFL basic formula for success.

And the ironic thing here is KC won much moreso because of Williams than Mahomes lol.  For all the Mahomes love (which is warranted) he played like an average QB for 75% of that game.  DWill shoulda been MVP.

So is every QB.

Tom Brady has had almost no run game his whole career, Aaron Rodgers in his prime run game was non existent. Big Ben after Bettis left ,Mahomes this year. Their best runner had like 500 yards. Im just saying. Its not.knocking him. Peyton was the exact same way and he is a hall of famer. Not every QB is the same. Some do things better than others. Ryan's IQ is.far more valuable then his arm strength. You know what they say 90% of the game is mental.
