Played great that game.

Side note: no idea why Austin Jackson has gotten 1st round hype. I'd take him in the 5th at the earliest. Dude isn't good.

Agree. I don’t like him at all. I am a Hawkeye fan. I live in Iowa. Watched every game Epensea ever played and I don’t think he’s Amazing. I think he’s really solid. 8-9 sack a year guy. But he destroyed Jackson.

I’m just not a fan. I don’t know, I could be wrong

Why not? Is it because you haven’t found a particular thing you really love? Or is it because there’s multiple red flags?

To me I'm not a fan of the edge class this year bunch of 6-8 sack guys which isn't bad I just want a double digit dude here for once.

Got you. Sounds like a draft position problem. Not the player himself

Epenesa is going to be a really good pro. He has great hand usage, almost always wins hand fights and presses the OT off of him. Once he has the tackle pressed, he sheds well then closes quickly to make the play. While he was a pass rush specialist last year, this year they had him play a lot of contain. They didn't really let him just pin his ears back and get after the QB and he still managed 10.5 sacks. A lot of people talk about him seeming like a 9-10 sack a year guy like that's a negative. A 10 sack a year player who is strong as an ox in the ground game and can play all three downs is crazy valuable and something this team desperately needs. Not including his rookie season or this past season, Cam Jordan averaged 10 sacks a season over a 7 year span. And many people would be absolutely stoked to add Cam Jordan to our line.

Also as a side note, I wouldn't be shocked if he shows up to the combine closer to 270 and blows away the athletic tests.

Exactly why I hope we invest heavy at DE in free agency - Robert Quinn + Carl Nassib is a pipedream but it's where I'm at - and go DT, Safety, RB early in the draft. It's where the value is at. Maybe Chaisson to replace Campbell if we plan on using him right, but idk that he's even there.

More likely they go CB and DE tho <_<

We will sign Benson Mayowa, Kerry Wynn, and Clinton McDonald for the price Quinn goes for.

You're not alone.  I will happily welcome them if we draft them but everybody looks like a project or high floor guy to me...at least of the ones available at 16.

Sign Clowney, draft a Kinlaw or Brown...even move up if/when one of them get to the 10-12 range. Line is suddenly very legit in run and pass D...just need to make sure we have some depth.

love that player combo, don’t love giving $22M plus to Clowney though. Not cause I care what he makes, but it will crush the cap to have 3 twenty million guys.

If we get those guy, still should invest pick(s) on DE from the top 1/2 of draft. Quinn is a 2-3 year player IMO. And not sure Takk will get a 5th year at this point.

would be homer happy to see us sign Nassib and draft YGM.

Just want to add that before the season, many people had Epenesa as a top 5 prospect and some rated had him as a higher prospect the Chase Young.

A LOT of.people had him as the #1 DE before the season.

I've seen a few mock drafts having us select him.
