Braves Spring Training

I know Kyle Wright gave up 2 runs yesterday, but this has been a very encouraging spring for him this far. 3.1 IP and 2 runs isnt great by any means, but for a spring training start, I’ll take it.

I think he may honestly be in our rotation for the first week

At some point he needs to **** or get off the pot.

Defense didn't help him much in that inning. They allowed the Red Sox to pull off a double steal to score one of the runs.

He did okay last September. Very small sample size, but it looks to me like the talent is there. I still have confidence in him. I'm far from a baseball expert, but I think he will be one of our 5 starters to start the year

I missed the game, but that's good to hear. Been a lot of box scoring for me this year lol

We hear this every time he's in AAA though, hopefully it actually carries over.

Hope it does carry over but I’m afraid he’s a AAAA pitcher. Too good for AAA but can’t cut it at the major league level. So sad.

Mark Bowman said he doesnt think Snitker actually believes Camargo shouldn't be a bench player. Bowman said he believes Snitker is just saying that to keep the 3B competition going. In other words, it keeps Riley and Camargo thinking they could be at AAA.

Bowman also said he expects King Felix to be the #4/5 SP to start the season. Assuming he stays healthy and on track. So far Felix has allowed just 2 runs in 8.2 IP with 8 K.

*** Breaking News***
”Skott Lee Leaving TATF”

With great regret I am announcing my departure from TATF. It has been a difficult decision to make but it is the correct one. I am way old school and I cannot speak the new analytic language and I’m just worn out from the criticism of my insufficiencies in this area. I also feel that at one time I had friends on this board but everyone seems to love hating. The vitriol gets to the point of unbearable. I can’t take it anymore. So I’d like to say that great friendships grew in my time here but that would be a lie. So my parting message to all of you is “Have a nice life”. You won’t have Skott Lee or any other of my 15 aliases to kick around anymore.

As a regular here who admittedly doesn't know you well, I think this is unnecessary. The analytics wave is a sign of the times that won't be going anywhere anytime soon, and people who aren't willing to adapt will assuredly be frustrated and left to be relics of the past. I think mature differences of opinion are what keeps any body of people - be they fans, employees, teammates, etc - engaged in wholesome discussion that doesn't devolve into groupthink. Anyone who can be a mature contributor to discussion is welcome in my book.

With that said, if you (or anyone else for that matter) can't do that, and/or can't embrace the merits of the analytics culture, then I truly wish you well elsewhere.

Newcomb with another strong outing, 4 scoreless innings against the Yankees at their park. He walked two, his first two of the season.

Patrick Weigel pitched another clean inning, he's pushing hard to make the case for making the squad.

So far, the kids are doing extremely well.
