Collins looks like a switch has been turned on and the light is ultra bright.

His perimeter shooting is like night and day vs a month ago. His stroke looks like a veteran wing. His put-backs are calculated and precise, when before they were just him trying to out-athlete bigger guys.  Same with his rebounding.  His ball handling is clearly improved too.

Dude is playing like an allstar right now.  If not for that suspension, he’d have been here 6-8 weeks ago and been a unanimous allstar.

We’re not going to need Giannis, folks.  Another year or two and we already have him.

If/when Cam and Hunter start averaging 20+ ppg (and it’s coming), and Capella gets in there and gels, and Huerter becomes a 15-20 ppg sniper off the bench, and this team is going to be scary.

Defense will come around as everyone relaxes/loses the pressure monkey off their backs, and Capella gets in there.

Future is bright.

Collins range has been the real difference in his game this year.  I’m not in love with my big’s shooting 3’s, but it’s tough to argue against 38%

Dude, it's like so past time to trade this bum.  He's clearly not improving.  17 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal... man he's such a liability on defense.  And going 3 of 3 on 3pt'ers?!?  Totally reminds m

I'll happily eat crow if Huerter keeps elevating his play.

Seeing much more ball movement. Two straight games with 30+ assists. We're gonna win many more games playing like that. Defense has been better as well across the board. Still some things to tighten up, but the effort has been there.

Encouraging sight. Hunter is building confidence and his game I think has noticeably improved (and so has his scoring). I think he'll be averaging closer to 20 PPG before long (he's already at 12.3).

All in all good showing the last two games. Hope they keep improving.

Ball movement has been key and I heard CLP and the players elude to it in interviews.  Let’s hope they enjoy this feeling of winning and now know what it takes to do it consistently.

Rookie Feb numbers

Hunter:

Reddish:

Good to see growth from these guys. Hunter averaged 7+ rebounds in february and was shooting above 40% from 3. He hit a rookie wall early, but nice to see him powering through it.

The growth of Reddish & Hunter along with the signing of Capella make the upcoming draft a complete mystery.  There is nobody in our top 6 that really needs upgrading.  This team simply needs time and some quality veteran backups.

Edwards has played like the true #1 lately.  But adding him seems like wing overkill.  No starting PG needed.  Do we need Wiseman with Clint on the books?

Maybe Toppin but with Collins increased range and offensive outburst/efficiency  lately he will get a max contract from us

I’d still take Wiseman at #1 or #2 in a heartbeat. Probably Edwards too if we were somehow the #2 pick and he’s there.

But we’re very likely going to be somewhere between 6-12.  This is why I say we go for a defensive specialist to replace Bembry (who I can’t stand as he just doesn’t fit our system), or a defender to spell Collins at the 4.

Trade back and get Tyler Bey (1/2/3 combo defender) or Paul Reed (3/4/5 combo defender). Or maybe even both.

Topin would certainly work, too, as he’s clearly a guy who could fill that 3/4/5 combo defender role, but he also has more than that to his game, which is why I think he goes somewhere between 4-7, and might be out of our reach if we don’t have a top-7 pick.

And I still think Vernon Carey Jr. should be an option too.  He’s under-valued and has an “it” factor that big boards aren’t accounting for. And with Capela, Dedmon, and Fernando, we could just tuck him away and develop him for a few years, and then boom, we got an Andre Drummond clone ready to go as soon as Capela is gone.
