Dont **** with the playoffs come on. If you extend it that's more teams and then the regular season just means less.

They want to just add 1 more team per conference added...  And instead of the top 2 teams getting a bye.... Only the top team gets a bye.... The 2nd team plays in the wild card

The NFL loves its parity. They would probably love to go to a model where instead of just 12 of 32 teams making the play-offs, only 12 of the 32 teams don't make the play-offs. Play-offs for everybody! Two full months of post-season play-off action! lol

They should increase % of revenue to players, expand the team by a few players, take off a preseason game, not touch the playoffs or regular season length, nor reduce contact in TC.

why are you here on the boards instead of up there in those meetings?  :tiphat:

although I would personally like to see them do away with 'inactive', let everyone be eligible to play game day, not necessarily add more players to the roster just to sit on the sidelines, heck they have that with the practice squad

On new labor deal, “ball at the 30 yard line and going in”

Posted by Mike Florio on January 17, 2020, 10:28 PM EST

Despite posturing that is both predictable and necessary to getting a deal done, a new labor agreement seems to be on the horizon.

As one source with knowledge of the dynamics explained it to PFT, the “ball [is] at the 30 yard line and going in.” While the source added that it’s “hardly a done deal,” both the NFL and NFL Players Association regard the start of the new league year in March as a “meaningful deadline and pressure point.”

The next league year, as the final league year under the current labor deal, has specific rules and limitations, including both a franchise tag and a transition tag for each team. As previously explained, the looming election of a new NFLPA president provides both sides with an incentive to get a deal done, because a new union regime could undo the progress that continues to be made.

So it’s looking good for now. But more work still needs to be done. The finish line, however, is in sight.

Man I'm totally with you on this but you go up there to the NFL with this they'd laugh you out of the meeting.

Has a small advantage between #1 and #2. This would put a gulf between #1 and #2. Drastically increases the odds of #1 seeds winning their conference.

That makes every game count even more.... think of how big that Seattle vs 49ers game would have been (and it was already a good game) ... Top will rest their guys less week 18.... that first spot would be hugeee..   it would make games matter more

Problem I have with it is the #1 and #2 seed teams don’t play the same schedule.  Giving one team a much bigger advantage because they maybe had some weaker teams on their schedule seems unfair.
