It’s also the first year with him too. Had he been promoted from within our staff the offense and he were already on the same page. Would’ve been a big difference first year OC but with Matt and Julio for 3 years and knowing what Matt likes and doesn’t like. What the offense clicks on and doesn’t click on vs first year with knew  team and players and having to install your system with them. There wouldn’t have been any installing here in Atl cause that was already in place. Now I agree that defense is making a difference in GB and also Aaron doesn’t turn the ball over. Whereas Matt was a pick machine in kyles first season. Had math just been efficient with the ball we would’ve been in the playoffs.

Truth.

However, there is also the factor of the coaching staff in Atlanta still changing; most of them leaving for SF.

Plus, it was a big leap for Matt at the time. He spent a year with McVay and then had a bad year in Tennessee with a “meh” QB...now is a HC. See what his offense looks like next year or in year 3.

Regarding turnovers?

Their defense and run game; especially, is a bit more efficient or even flat out dominant compared to what ours was in 2015. Rodgers has the luxury of not taking risky throws and can win. He has played so risky averse while his overall contribution is weak.

For example, Matt basically did more here than Aaron did there this year. And, Rodgers is basically doing the same thing this year than he did for McCarthy last year.

TD/INT ratios are massively overrated.

Sark was punished by Falcon fans because he wasn't Shanahan.  The anger should have been toward the coordinator who threw the team under the bus in the Superbowl and left for another gig...

Nope the punishment should have been dished out to the person who thought it was a good idea to hire a OC who had zero NFL experience and expect him and come and run the most potent offense in the NFL at the time.

PS he may have made a mistake in the SB but the mistake don’t maketh the man.As for leaving last time I looked NFL HC jobs are very rare opportunities you take it when you get them.

I’m far more confident in our defense heading into 2020 than I am the offense

well, the fans pressure was real. Some move had to be made

Fan pressure is never real.  It makes no sense to cater to the lunatic fringe...that is to say, us.

LOL, this is true. When management starts listening to the media and/or fans, all the lights go out.

Biggest Mistake of his career was hiring Sark.

We all make mistakes but he needs to acknowledge it - if anything is going to change.

Actually, a much bigger mistake of DQ’s was firing Manuel and naming himself DC. A mistake which nearly got him fired.

Edit: But Biggest mistake of his career.... by far ....was not over-ruling his OC in SB 51.

Come on now. Jerseys and team personnel do not go hand in hand. Much respect but that is a bad comparison

Listening to fans in terms of who to hire/fire/sign/cut is the biggest mistake an owner or front office will ever make. If they truly listened to fans Roddy would have been cut after year 2, Ryan would have been gone long ago, Julio would have been gone 2 years ago, Hooper would have never became a fan favorite(yes fans were calling for another TE a couple years ago, didn't even want to give the man a chance), etc...… As for uniforms, stadiums, concession prices, etc... of course the fans will have an influence because that's where a part of the money flow comes from.

Good News:

Even year.

AFC West on schedule.

Bad News:

NFC North on schedule (Falcons have never won division with NFC North since being in the NFC South)

Mind you, even years like 2002, 2006, 2014, and 2018 without a western division on the schedule we only had single digit win seasons and missed the playoffs except for 2002.

He was but that wouldn’t have happened if DQ makes the right decision on the hire in the first place.

If you want to run a system as complicated as KS’s why bring in a complete newbie when you’ve got 2 assistants sitting in the wings. The right people were still here to run it DQs decision making is the why this didn’t work like it should have.

Sark and DK were and still are thee wrong hires.
