Mike Mularky is Retiring

Our front office is probably one of the worst and most under achieving in the league.. Id like to see it completely restructured from top to bottom.. Mikes career as a player was horrible and his coaching wasnt anything great. Blank needs to aim higher if we're ever going to be an organization taken seriously in the NFL

This sucks in my opinion. He's one of the better TE coaches in the league. Hooper and Graham would have developed a ton with MM. Graham especially.

Yeah while maybe not the most innovative playcaller.... his work as our OC was pretty good for the most part.

And he's a **** good TE coach.

I'm with you.  This is a big loss.

Has always developed good TE's. That's why I was fine with his hire in the first place. Hopefully Steele can step in, but I'm not optimistic.

... and I hope MM is okay.  Only 58.  That's a tad young to be retiring.

I dunno. Part of the reason I didn't push harder to get into scouting or coaching is the hours. Worse with scouting, but even with coaching, it comes at a big cost to family life and relationships. So much travel and time away from loved ones. What he's saying here makes a lot of sense to me.

Plus he's got all that Titans money.

Oh yeah. No doubt. The time commitment is almost inhuman. I wonder how any of these coaches hold a family together.

Mularkey always struck me as a lifer though. He readily took demotions to stay in the league.

I get if he’s really had enough. Can’t blame him but I just hope it’s on his own terms.
