16. ATLANTA FALCONS: GRANT DELPIT, DB

The Falcons played much better on defense in the second half of the 2019 season, but Atlanta still needs plenty of help on that side of the ball. Although Delpit had a down year, he looks like a sure-fire first-rounder.

47. ATLANTA FALCONS - Jonathan Greenard, Edge

The Gators most disruptive player was a force all year.  Despite missing several weeks to high ankle sprain, Greenard led the SEC in tackles for loss (17), sacks (9 in 10 games) and QB Pressures (55).

55. ATLANTA FALCONS (VIA NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS): J.K. DOBBINS

Dobbins is a steal at the end of the 2nd.  After Swift, he is the clear RB2.  At 5’10, 220 lbs he possesses freakish athletic ability.  Dobbins runs a 4.44 40-Yard Dash, a 4.09 20-Yard Shuttle and a ridiculous 43.1-inch Vertical Jump.  This helped him rush for over 2,000 yards this year.

74.  FALCONS SELECT -  NEVILLE GALLIMORE, DT

Height: 6-2. Weight: 301.
Projected 40 Time: 5.50.

12/14/19: Gallimore has 27 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles on the year. Team sources say that Gallimore is an athletic tackle with great twitch. He is a penetrating disruptor who would fit best in a 4-3 as a three-technique who could also play some nose tackle.  Many analysts compare him to current Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

I would be okay w it.

Delpit could be a good player, but we already have Rico and Kazee as FS. Would love an elite safety back there though.

not that familiar w Greenard, but sounds like a solid prospect

And it’s no secret I like Dobbins (though I hate OSU!)

I am surprised seeing these mocks w Gallimore that late in the draft. For some reason I envisioned him as a solid round 2 pick.

Love the draft!  But I’m not all starry eyed over Dobbins yet.  That OSU vs Clemson game seems to be when folks jumped on his wagon.

What I saw is a guy who made some really nice gainers while turning on the jets.  But the lanes were wide open where he didn’t have to create a darn thing.

Now he may have lots of film showing himself as a really elusive, creative, tough runner who can make plays when the lanes aren’t  there or after his initial contact.  But I just haven’t done the film review yet.

Love it all besides Greenard. Dude has legitimately one of the worst motors I've ever seen. You think Beasley is bad against the run? You don't know bad until you've watched three games of a guy taking himself out of the play, jogging, halfassing tackles etc when the RB can see him coming. Greenard isn't a 4th round pick, let alone a 2nd.

Greenard is known for his motor and run defense.  I need to do some research

I prefer Edwards-Helaire & Taylor.  But Fobbins is good....he does have lots of large holes to run through.  What I like about Edwards-Helaire is his toughness.  Watch this:

We have Allen and Kazee (and possibly Neal?) at Safety

We have _____ and _____ at Defensive End (Beasley-only an idiot team pays him more than $10m, McKinley is a lemon that spends more time in the shop than on the road, Clayborn is an aging guy for occasional use, and maybe there is something hiding like Cominsky)

If we have clear gaps on the field without starters, that should be the priority of our 1st round pick.

It might be nice to possibly upgrade at Safety but that actually would put one player on the bench too.

Never trust others opinions esp if you haven't seen for yourself. Including mine. I try not to form opinions without watching a guy a lot
