Who stays, who goes? An early offseason look at the Falcons’ 2020 roster, including free agents

I’m assuming you aren’t including Beasley. But yes, Few seem to grasp this truth.

It just doesn't make sense this year. Cool, you cut our cb1, rb1 and strong safety. You just created three more holes to fill on top of the ones we already have and you only saved 14 mil doing it.

Maybe if we could trade them that's a different story, but to outright cut with no way to replace is not the way to go.

All of them combined only save you 14 mil and now you're stuck trying to replace 4 roster spots with that 14 mil...

I agree.  I see that people are trying so hard to regroup more money, but all we are doing is opening holes and saving minimal for a team that is pretty much SB or bust this year.

With Sheff and Oliver locks on this team and Miller suspended and BWW a FA, we are SUPER thin at CB should we cut Tru.  I say keep him 1. because of his large cap hit we would have minimal savings anyways, and 2. Should injuries happen again we NEED depth and Tru had been playing well before BOTH injuries.

Free is the only exception I can see TRADING in reality because we have 3 capable backs behind him who could probably give us the same production we've been getting past few years from him.  If we want better O-line needs to step up whoever is toting the rock.

Beasley is the up in the air subject I feel DQ will somehow try to bring him back in some fashion, even though others don't feel he's worth ANY money.

We have a majority of this roster set already, even if it's only due to financial constraints.  I would just hate to be that team that cuts all kinds of players with no monetary kickback and we end up resetting the charts with street players that end up being worse than what these players we cut.

I’m agreeing with you. Cut them loose in 2021 when it makes a lot more economic sense and you’ve had time to groom their replacements.

The fact we didn’t trade free to Detroit middle of last season spoke volumes.

I’d look at trading possibly Freeman of Brown if we get any takers just take the picks and run if I were to try and off load talent. We have enough depth at G and it puts you in line to use 1 of those 2nd round picks to grab a RB.

Tru I keep for one more Carpenter aswell as poor as he was and let the battle commence at LG.

Might as well include Sambrailo, Stocker, Schaub. HeIl! Why cut anybody?

Big difference in cutting backups and making more holes to fill. The only cuts I'm making this year are stocker, schaub, carpenter because he just doesn't fit, and Bailey. Restructure mathews as well and you're sitting at close to 30 mil.

I'd try to trade Tru, Freeman and try to tag and trade Hooper.

Cominsky performed way better than Campbell. I don’t know what happened but Campbell really regressed this year.

At DE or at LB? I think Campbell is quality and won’t break the bank and sometimes you have to have guys like him in order to make the whole machine go. He can get a bad wrap around here cuz ppl want him to be an all-pro but really he’s just a quality player

Well it either meant that DET pulled out or we did.

In either result, the whole point is that it didn't go through but there was at least consideration on both sides of an agreement.

The fact that Freeman was on the block showed that not only were teams interested, we were also interested in shipping him off.

We don't know exactly why it didn't go through, but at least there was the intention there and it could be brought up again in early offseason if they are feeling to go i a different direction with Hill, Smith, Olly, or another DP.

He might not break the bank, but I do think that he will cost more for us to bring back with so many other needs and we have Foye who could replace him still on his rookie deal. Or we could move Neal and draft a replacement instead

Too many C’s.  Sorry I meant Crawford. I edited my post.

I wouldn't trade Tru.  I'd see if a restructure could be done, but I agree on the rest. Also like the idea of restructuring Mack.

If Means heals up well then that’ll make Bailey expendable.

Mack is on the last year of his deal. He would need to be extended to get any savings. On Tru the only way to restructure is if you plan on keeping him the next few years. I never really thought he fit Quinn's style so IDK on that one

PLEASE! Why is it so hard for him to get snaps?! He showed well in PS and in limited snaps, yet kept feeding Schweitzer. It will be stupid if they let Wes walk. Why keep feeding a guy snaps that won't be on the team?

DQ 101 I don’t know he does this there’s been so many questionable roster decisions.

DQ is thee only guy who can answer these questions.

The only thing I can come up with is they see Schweitzer as thee heir apparent to Mack.

That's the ONLY thing I've thought about. It would make sense. But then... Who's playing LG? Lol it's all confusing.
