O line is closer than they appear

Recommended Posts

The o line does look bad but there are reasons why

1. 2 rooks on one side.  One missed almost all pre season and the other only has played in 4 games I think.  They have played much better together and will only get better with playing time.
2. LG is an issue.   And it’s something both Mathews and Mack have to deal with and they can’t play both positions at once.  Get a real good LG AND all 3 positions improve.
3. Play calling and guys getting open can help too.  What is with all the very slow developing plays?  No o line anywhere can hold up when the QB has to hold ball for 5 seconds.   You also need people getting open so Matt can get rid of the ball quicker.

I think this o line is a LG and better play caller away from being truly good if not great.

Bucs D line is whooping our boys on the Oline today!

Dude none of us are professional coaches but we can google a stat sheet  and see the Bucs have a good DL. Why can't Dirk see that? These coaches that can't adjust or don't adjust quick enough will always make players look worse than they really are. Dirk is one of them.

Dirks playcalling sucks today also, besides that Ty Td.

A good offense adapts to weakness it doesn’t stay the same.It doesn’t allow a defense which has your number to continue to have there way it adapts.

If you can’t adapt to and scheme to cover your weakness your done in this league done.

Scheme>Talent. All day.

Good scheme will always trump talent.

Koetter never adjusted to the Bucs selling out. No bootlegs. No double moves. No pick plays. No stack concepts. Just straight drop backs and hope the receiver beats their man. Bucs were sitting on that stuff all game.

This isn't your grandpas football where there was a select few that can jump 40 inches, bench 225 30 times and run a 4.4. The talent is too good in this league to keep doing the same thing. Stay the course and you'll get left behind. It applies to Koetter.

Like it talent can’t cover up poor thinking & coaching.

I hate the fact MR2 hasn’t had continuity but DK just isn’t the guy.

Just looking at the red zone I just couldn’t see what the plan was.

Ryan threw it 50 times today no nope just no and 40 seems very common this season.

Unless we're getting a creative guy to come in, I just don't know how to feel about making a change right now with Dirk. He's the only real question mark I've had with this staff, and one could only hope year 2 with these guys and a healthy o line would be better.

I really wish we still had Sark. Never got the hate for the guy.
