MCarthy must not be that great

Recommended Posts

Notice how Carolina didnt jump on him after interview. They must know a retread when they see one.  Current Vegas Super Bowl odds:

  1. Baltimore Ravens - 9/4
  2. San Francisco 49ers - 9/2
  3. New Orleans Saints - 5/1
  4. Kansas City Chiefs - 8/1
  5. New England Patriots - 8/1
  6. Green Bay Packers - 10/1
  7. Seattle Seahawks - 14/1
  8. Minnesota Vikings - 25/1
  9. Houston Texans - 30/1
  10. Philadelphia Eagles - 30/1

Just saying, if he's the end all, be all, hot commodity then they would have scooped him up by now. Carolina is just proving what a lot on this board have been saying he's a 2nd tier pick for head coach. He's the guy you get if the guy you want is gone.

They cant hire him genius. Look up the Rooney rule.

McCarthy is fine.  I don't really want him, but I wouldn't cry if we got him either.  Carolina could do a lot worse.

I like how if a free agent he likes took a visit here and left we'd have threads about how we let this beast walk and missed our chance. But when it's a coach he doesn't like now the rival team is full of geniuses.

Carolina has either already interviewed Perry Fewell, or has him scheduled....I forget which.  They may wait until this last game, though.

Who knows, they may be getting the paper work ready right now!
But really, I think I'll be jealous of the team that does get Mike McCarthy.
I mean, his winning percentage is well over .600 @ 125 - 77.  Post season is 10 - 8.
And most importantly, he has a RING!!!  (Super Bowl 45)...  .

Sign him up, Mr. Blank!!!

Per history, that's actually not important at all.

I know it seems completely counter-intuitive on the surface, but since nobody has ever won a SB with two different teams, it's almost as if anything, you wanna avoid a HC with a ring.

I guess it could be possible Mike McCarthy would rather wait for someone like Atlanta or Dallas to possibly interview him. I would.
