It’s infuriating that this is never discussed.  The one stretch when the Patriots had actual competition in their division, from 2008 to 2012 when Rex Ryan was in NY, they made one SB and lost it.   While we’ve been battling Brees and Cam they’ve played against Ryan Tannehill and JP Losman.

They've gotten a free ride to a first round bye for nearly 20 years.  Given that about 70% of SB births go to the top 2 seeds try and tell me their weak-a** division doesn’t give them a huge advantage

I was actually thinking of this today. The pats beat non division opp beets yes, but the weak division made the path easier.

So TD doesn’t want a Lombardi is that what your saying ?

Who is this mythical beast that’s going to come in here and deliver this Lombardi?

We all know TD wants the trophy. Who knows...but like I said AB has the $ and resources to get one and who knows but we do know it’s not TD

I don’t think wanting to win a SB a couple of times in 10 -12 yrs is unrealistic. TDs had his chance and blew it. Explain paying 50 million $$$ for two starting guards in FA that don’t even start. Just tired of this crap bro. That’s a lot of money to piss away wth

50 mill for 2 Gs you sure about that or are you making stuff up here.

Pissing away a billionaires money hardly money he’ll lose any sleep over.

Also hows that on TD when the HC controls the roster and the GM facilitates these decisions.

Not sure your understanding completely how this works.

yes our roster only play well   we are out of the playoff  and go have a losing

Out of the playoffs but finishing on a high note.  I would say we might be playing as well as anyone outside of the Ravens at this point.  I dont see much upside in another coaching/scheme change.  This team needs continuity and to get the most out of our stars.  Another big shakeup will likely require another 1 to 2 year roster shakeup while Ryan is more likely to decline than get better.  We can win a lot of games in 2020 if this defense continues to perform at this level.

Think about it if your current you’ll understand the organisational structure has changed between the change in coaches.

If it were just a blame game you’d be firing people high in the organisation every year.

If you had SB or bust mentality you’d have new HCs & GMs every other year.

TD has been held accountable hence why they continue to fine tune his role.

They had a great coach and some great GMs

For sure they had good people behind Cowher no doubt about it.

But the owners believed in Cowher that’s probably why they stuck for so long that’s what good organisations do they believe in the people they select to get the job done.

Its probably why Robert Kraft has stuck with BB as long as he has and the Browns choose to let him walk.

I see no different with ABs decision to stick with TD as long as he has because he believes he can get the job done and he’s shown that.

He's had just as many as any of those great teams you mentioned. Schneider & Carroll started off in Seattle 7-9 in back to back seasons. If that happened here, they would've never made it past the 2nd 7-9 season.

Well the problem is Carroll didnt send his DB  and former Head Coach to Coach Wide Recievers..... When they had an OC leaving, they didnt hire an OC from College who had never not only called plays in the NFL, but was also asked to learn another Coach's system.  DQ also showed his ineptitude by taking over the defense, which sucked royally, then letting former Wide Receivers coach and LB coach take over play calling and all of a sudden our defense doesnt suck?? Pretty much shows our HC sucks

TD got DQ the players he wanted.... problem is DQ hasnt done anything with them

That's kinda harsh considering we were up 28-3 in the super bowl, went 10-6 the next year and played the eventual champs to a close game, and ran into a huge injury bug last year.

People like to yell close but no cigar on 2016, but I would say anytime you play in a super bowl, you accomplished something. 32 teams try every year, and only 2 make it. I'm not proud of the 28-3 debacle, but I respect the appearance at least.

He gets a lot of hate because because he has not been held accountable for NOT building the trenches on BOTH sides of the ball. I don’t see us making any playoff runs unless we become formidable in the front lines and it hasn’t happened his entire tenure.

That is 100% correct!
